We've been "handed" alright - by the M$M, and they are not our friends. Rudy has baggage - 3rd marriage, no actual foreign policy experience and limited executive experience (NYC is about the same size as North Carolina or New Jersey - not small, but not TX or CA). BTW, as mayor of NYC you don't get experience dealing with a legislature, you have much more control than a president does in setting an agenda.
If it were only that.
He's also a proven-gun grabber hostile to the 2nd Amendment. He's pro-amnesty and pro-sanctuary city for illegals. He's pro-CFR and also severely restricted basic 2nd Amendment rights to assemble and protest while mayor of NYC. He's now a believer in human-caused global warming. And there is just an unsavory side emerging about him as well - he tried to get his term extended after 9-11, and also wanted 9-11 monies dumped into one of his companies, the better to get a couple million in administrative fees.
The Rudy boosters would have you believe that Rudy's opponents are single-issue voters. One issue at a time.
He's pro-CFR and also severely restricted basic 1st Amendment rights to assemble and protest while mayor of NYC.
I doubt that PA is a Lost CAUSE...I am tired of Liberals. Enough !
Fine. Let them stay home.
I no longer have any patience for people who cannot understand that sometimes you MUST compromise in order to get ANY of your agenda advanced.
Pathetic.
Exactly right, MittFan. But some here vow they'd rather lose the election, and allow Hillary/Obama to be in control of our country, than vote for an imperfect GOP candidate.
Cutting off their noses to spite their faces.
As for me, if it's Mitt, go Mitt!
If it's Duncan, go Duncan!
If it's Rudy, damn straight go Rudy!
"All the Rudy bashing seems to stem from the fact that he's not for outlawing abortion."
There are many more reasons to be concerned about Giuliani.
He is:
Pro abortion
Anti-gun
Pro campaign Finance Reform
Pro Partial Birth Abortion
Pro Embryonic Stem Cell Research
Pro Amnesty/Safe havens for illegal border invaders
Pro Homosexual Civil Unions
...and he has some serious personal character issues.
YOU follow the media little one. I'll stick with my Ideological beliefs and when the time comes..... then I'll throw myself into the political fray and support the best candidate and it will NOT be "RUDY."
If it's Duncan, go Duncan!
If it's Rudy, damn straight go Rudy!
Amen!
Cool.
What third party will you support *if* Giuliani wins the GOP nomination?
That, and he's an unabashed gun-grabber.
Abortion and gun control; pincers of genocide.
It's a matter of how much agenda you have to lose. Many would consider Rudy's stances to be so far away from the platform that it wouldn't matter. I'm not one of those. Sometimes you have to choose the lesser of two evils. That said, the time to get the right candidate is in the primaries.
I would take Rudy anyday over dealing with another Clinton as president.
Santorum's key swing voters were pro-life and pro-gun Dems and Indies. Please show how Rudy will attract those voters.
Romney is still collecting $$$, and is wowing people in UT, where such response is expected. I don't count him out at this very early juncture. I will vote for whoever can beat Hitlery or Obama Hussein or Edwards. I'll even vote for Rudy, although his abortion, gun, gay and illegal immigration stances truly grate upon this conservative. It's that he maay be unbeatable, but can and should beat the Twofer, the Wicked Witch of the East and her useless perp of a husband. Imagine what a disaster that twosome would be back in the WH! YUK!
Yep. Been doin' that since I cast my first vote in 1988.
That said, the time to get the right candidate is in the primaries.
I agree completely. But what happens if Rudy wins the primary? Will the True Conservatives cease fire and unify against our common opponent?
Or will they act as spoilers?
Thank you so much for making my point for me. Santorum won twice largely because he was pro-life and the Dem wasn't. He lost when the Dems finally ran a pro-lifer.
Rudy will NOT be able to pull over pro-life Dems in key battleground states.
