Great news, conservatives! Fresh from piloting Air America into a full-throttle collision into the ratings cellar floor, Al Franken is ready to become Minnesotas next U.S. senator.
Finally! A liberal who doesnt wear the mask the rest of the Washington Democrats hide behind. Franken epitomizes the hard-working wing of his base inspired by the likes of Michael Moore, Cindy Sheehan and most recently, anti-Catholic hyperblogger Amanda Marcotte.
At last, we have Al Republican are shameless d**ks Franken -- a Democrat who wont goosestep to Rahm Emanuels finer talking points or fancy slogans.
As Minnesotas more famous son, Hubert Horatio Humphrey, might have said, Were pleased as punch that Al is running for senate.
HUMAN EVENTS is thrilled to be among the first to endorse him for the Democrat nomination to become the next U.S. senator from Minnesota. We do so with malice aforethought out of the sheer pleasure wed get out of watching Hillary Clinton squirm out of campaign appearances with him. And we will be the first to celebrate his loss. We cannot imagine the good people of Minnesota inflicting this classless bully on the rest of us.
After all, this is the man who said this of his worthy opponent: Minnesota Republican Norman Coleman, is one of the administration's leading butt boys.
What elegance, what wit! We cant wait for his campaign.
Think about it: Franken is absolutely incapable of containing his revulsion for anyone with an "R" behind their name. Unlike the Hillary Clintons and Harry Reids of the party who manage to fake enough niceties to keep the swing voters around, Franken doesnt have a chance pretending all the horrible things he said about half the country were just jokes.
Would someone please line Franken up to do a variety show Republican National Convention

Republican are shameless d**ks"
I can just see the TV commercials now. He's given them a lot of material to chose from.
What a funny article - this is the first article of hers I've read, and it's great. Thanks for posting it. Al Franken is a small and mean person.
Comparing Coleman to Chafee is totally preposterous. Given the tilt of his state, Coleman has been an excellent Senator. His fight against U.N. corruption has been nothing short of spectacular.
having now seen her, I concur with that statement.
as far as Norm goes, his latest vote with the dims (again)
along with pushing ethanol and voting against drilling in ANWR has me thinking he's just another former dim from NYC who can't be trusted.
From my observations, it's just that they're the progeny of died-in-the-wool Farmer's democrats. They don't even examine the principles and values which the the Repubs stand on and simply vote the way their parents did.
Your observation is dead on. Some of my Minnesota Catholic farmer friends vote Democrat even through they are social and fiscal conservatives. When I really want to get them steamed, I ask them who they'll sit with at the next DFL convention in Minneapolis: The folks from NOW, GLAD, NAMBLA, Planned Parenthood, or the Black Muslims?
I gotta get my ass over to Slovakia!
