Repeal War Powers (Bill Press)
Bill Press ^ | 02/20/2007 | bill press

OK, what’s next?

Democrats lost their second attempt to debate the war in Iraq on the Senate floor.

So, what’s next?

Seems to me there’s only one answer: The White House didn’t want a non-binding resolution. So, let’s give them something binding, instead.

Next priority for Democrats in Congress: Repeal the 2002 resolution authorizing the use of military force in Iraq.

There are three reasons for doing so:

We know Bush lied to Congress about WMD in order to get it passed. So it’s based on false pretenses. Bush has abused his authority ever since: not sending enough troops, not protecting troops or vehicles with armor, keeping them in the middle of a civil war. If they don’t stop him now, he’ll use the same authority to start another war in Iran. In fact, he’s already trying to do so. So, there’s no doubt what Congress must do next: Take George Bush’s war-making authority away from him.

Then give it back with clear strings attached: no more troops; existing troops can only be used to train Iraqis, not fight a civil war; troops must start coming home in 90-100 days; and all troops must be out by 2008.

They couldn’t pass a non-binding resolution.

Maybe the Senate will have better luck on something with teeth.

That’s my parting shot for today. I’m Bill Press.

Bill Press is not the sharpest knife in the drawer as story below proves:

We know Bush Clinton lied to Congress about WMD ethnic cleansing in order to get it passed. So it’s based on false pretenses. Bush Clinton has abused his authority ever since: not sending enough troops, not protecting troops or vehicles with armor, keeping them in the middle of a civil war. If they don’t stop him now, he’ll use the same authority to start another war in Macedonia. In fact, he’s already trying to do so. So, there’s no doubt what Congress must do next: Take George Bush's Bill Clinton's war-making authority away from him.

Why is bandwidth being wasted on this junk. I think I'll print it on some TP and put it to better use.

I just write for a local newspaper, but if I can't prove what I'm saying is true in facts they won't publish it.

How does Bill Press get away with lies like "we know Bush lied about WMD"?

We know Bush lied to Congress about WMD in order to get it passed.

Wrong! Liberals do not know the difference between having bad information and telling a lie. At least when it involves a Republican.

You know, we could have a nice little game of "count the lies" with this screed, perhaps even achieve double digits in this case, but frankly I'm getting tired of schmucks like Press being taken seriously when our soldiers are daily putting their lives on the line to kill the guys who are committed to killing all of us.

" So, there’s no doubt what Congress must do next: Take George Bush’s war-making authority away from him.">>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

You know, this is popular speech these days among the mindless iconoclasts of the left. Press is one of the mindless, but he is symptomatic of the problem were are about to face, a constitutional crisis which has the potential to develope into civil strife. What will happen when we have 100,000 angry soldiers pulled out of Iraq prematurely. Do you think they will come home and lapse into silence?

The Commander in Chief cannot be stopped without a constitutional crisis that may lead to shooting in the streets. These ugly political smut muffins like Press do not have any idea of the fire they are playing with.

Look. Press is a putz. As a computer salesman in a CompUSA in Rockville, Maryland, Press, picking up a PC, once asked me what I thought of presidental candidate Bill Clinton. I told him that I thought that Limbaugh would make limberger out of him. Press scowled but, I already had his money. Ron Brown shopped there too, shortly before our Air Force plastered him all over a mountainside. Makes me wonder what Pelosi sees in them. As with Press, ego trumps common sense.
Press is going in the wrong direction by 360 degrees. Bush is the victim, not the perp. He got criminally bad advice and performance from his top military and civilian people in the Pentagon and the buffoons in the State Dept. Everybody knows that now. The vaunted Colin abandoned his post when needed most. What does a 'Condoleeza' know about national security - or - diplomatic brinksmanship for that matter? What a pathetic gang of losers. Of course, Bush didn't ASK to have a terror war for his presidency but then, neither does a teenager ASK to have fields of zits appear all over their body. Daddy told him "Zit happens." and the kid appears to be stoically popping them as they show up but, unless you do it just right, you're going to be left with a lot of scars and that's what our Body Politic is looking like today.

Maybe you don't get it. Our top political and military people are failures. The mid-level and low-level people are exploited for their lives, careers, and patriotism by the power-grabbers, the ultra-rich and the inherit-class at the top who, as I said, are failures, but, they'll live out their failed lives in luxurious splendor, writing books, planning coups, contemplating suicides, plotting schemes, murders and ways out of the mega-sewer that they have turned the United States into. Our politicians are almost a total garbage class as they are so amply demonstrating to us all. Our highest level military class are detatched multi-billion dollar program managers, not warriors, severely isolated from the troops they were originally sworn to direct and protect. The shocking dereliction in the deployment, equipping, and support of the troops in Iraq and Afghanistan is unforgivable, especially given the available budgets. The gross incompetence bountifully demonstrated daily by the continued and embarrassing planning and production of weapons systems designed for use against an enemy which has not existed for at least 20 years shocks and dismays while urgent and immediate needs are ignored, to wit...http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/16545885/

....that's right, on and on. Oh, as I said the American politicians and upper elite military are virtually all complete failures and, when they are not doing their best to doom those who serve below them - they eat each other.
Right now I'm CNN'ing McCain with a mike in his mouth NOW saying that Rummy will go down as the "worst SecDef in the history of the United States". BEFORE, he praised him for the Washington cameras. NOW, he savages him. BEFORE, McCain could have saved soldier's lives by criticizing Rumsfeld before the Senate to effect real change but HE TOOK THE COWARD'S WAY and thousands of American's died for all these Washington ash-holes licking each other's butts.
You bet your ash - I can go on and on........
