Thank you so much for writing this. As the mother of a U.S. Marine who has served twice in Iraq so far, I can't begin to imagine what you all are going through. Please thank your son for his service and tell him that he and his fellow Marines will continue to be in my prayers.

Some want to now conduct war as if it is a police exercise and the police are always at fault anyway.

This is not so in all of the homes across this country. We are grateful for men like your son, and for the families that raise them.

These Marines are heroes, and worthy of at the very least, our appreciation, even before they were ever sent into any hot zone.

I'll prejudge them as the cream of the crop, of their generation.
