I want to ask you two questions and would appreciate a simple, nonhedged answer....................
Do you, or do you not, believe that laws should be obeyed?
Please don't tell me that there are "bad laws", nor that some laws should be changed. Just a simple yes or no will suffice.
Do you, or do you not believe in Staes' Rights?
Depends on the law. Some laws are inherently invalid and repugnant to both the Constitution, the concept of Freedom and the dignity of the individual. For all practical purposes, violating the law has it's consequences.
" Do you, or do you not believe in Staes' Rights?"
As far as I'm concerned, States don't have rights, people have rights. States have powers delegated to them by the people. Powers which do not include violating the Constitution, and in particular the Bill of Rights, by virtue of the 14th Amendment.
Ask Rudy that.
He defied federal law and federal court orders and maintained NYC's sanctuary city policy in defiance of both.
