The Taiwan anthem is one of the most beautiful in the world.
And at Taipei American School, some clever students for graduation arranged and orchestrated an absolutely beautiful blending of the American Anthem and the Taiwan Anthems. The result was stunningly beautiful--a real tear jerker for some of us--an American sining the American half and a Taiwanese singing the Taiwan half in a very wonderously woven together unit. Wish I had a recording of it.

Well, the pro-independence Taiwanese absolutely hate the "Taiwan" anthem. Because there's a reference in the lyrics to the Kuomintang.

Thanks. Guess no one bothered to share that feeling with me in my 13 years there. Certainly probable. There are very strong feelings against the KMT . . . it was only during my time there that the 2/24 area near the old USA base that supposedly included bodies was finally made over into a park area.

Yes it is...but what's not funny is the amount of money the Chicoms are pouring into Central and South America, and the Caribbean. It's almost like they're trying to buy friends all around us...to what end?
