Mdittmar, I DID read the post . Four times. My point was that the ROE have to be changed. Summary executions would facilitate the security of the men serving. in turn it would improve the situation exponentially. I understand the intelligence gathering aspect of detaining them however most who are directly attacking the coalition forces are part of small groups disconnected from the leaders of the terrorist networks.

Detaining these monsters sends the wrong signal. Young men in what is the most powerful military in the history of the civilized world are hamstrung 'gulliver style' due to PC ROE's. Many FReepers who have served have complained about this. What if this POS had a stapped on explosive? Instead of only him being dead, more US soldiers would come back home in coffins. I say F&$@ck that. These men are for all intents and purpose already dead. Once in a state of Jihad they are already dead. Saving the lives of GI's should be the paramount ROE. Anything else is utter stupidity. looters are shot on sight. The same should be applied in Iraq.

Nice bunch of 'folks' we detain:

"Intelligence reports indicated that the suspects are involved in al-Qaida in Iraq kidnapping operations, improvised explosive devices emplacement and foreign terrorist safe house activities. Coalition Forces also uncovered a weapons cache consisting of numerous AK-47s, several pistols, wire spools, 60mm mortar rounds and a pressure plate. Four suspected terrorists operating a foreign fighter safe house were detained in Ramadi. In Kalar, two suspects with ties to foreign fighter facilitation were detained.
