I read the article. Menino and Patrics comments are absurd. There was no "hoax" at all- they were advertising, and were intended to look like cartoon characters that lit up.

A hoax would involve an intent to deceive.

But, these are powerful men and their ignorance and absurdities will cause some creative, talented people to do jail time.

Menino wants to go after TBS's FCC license. This guy is a complete and utter moron.

I hope they all coool down and drop the charges against this guy. Looks like they are going to charge him with "placing a hoax device in a way that causes panic and disorderly conduct".
Isn't it obvious it wasn't a hoax. He placed them in areas that are mostly dark with a lot of foot or auto traffic.

As of this morning, it appears you are correct..
People are upset that they were made to look stupid, and now they want revenge...
Even the FoxNews talking head this morning, Scott *Whatever*, is calling the 2 art students "Knuckleheads", as if they somehow were the perpetrators of some nefarious plot..

You know somebody is going to pay when even FOX is looking for revenge.. ( They were made to look stupid as well..)
