Diverse Voices To Denounce Iraq Troop Plan [Hanoi Jane's war protest] [FR DC Chapter opposes]
Washington Post ^ | January 27, 2007 | By Michael E. Ruane

Tens of thousands of demonstrators from across the country are expected to converge in Washington today to urge the withdrawal of U.S. forces from Iraq as President Bush is proposing to send more troops in an effort to stabilize the country.

They plan to rally on the Mall, march around the north side of the Capitol and send a strong message to the government.

The event, which authorities said could draw 100,000 people, starts with a rally at 11 a.m. Among those expected to address the crowd are Jane Fonda, Danny Glover, Susan Sarandon and Jesse Jackson.

The march, organized by the group United for Peace and Justice, is scheduled to start at 1 p.m.

~~snip~~

Fifty to 100 members of the Washington chapter of the conservative organization FreeRepublic.com plan to rally near the U.S. Navy Memorial to oppose the march and the participation of Jane Fonda, the chapter said. The actress has long been the object of conservative ire for her support of North Vietnam during the Vietnam War.

"These groups are the ones that are acting as the political arm of the terrorists overseas to help bring about America's defeat in the war on terror," said Kristinn Taylor of FreeRepublic.com.

I dunno, I think I'm a pretty rational girl. And I'd promise not to have sex in the Oval Office.

And, I'll limit it to the Clinton Bedroom.
I'll bet it's never been christened.

Not only would it make a great commercial...but the GOP leaders in the Senate Intelligence Committee could also use them..

You see....Sen. Rockefailure is still trying to make a case that Pres. Bush and VP Cheney LIED to get them into war.

Unfortunately, a lot of these quotes were made before Pres. Bush was even POTUS....and in Hillary's video, she is crediting intelligence from when Bubba was POTUS, I do believe.

Tx, if you do a search with dogpile.com the name comes up a few times. One seems to be a magazine of some sorts, but I could not find her name in any of the articles.

Can't say I have any respect for anyone in the armed forces that would say something like this to her fellow soldier, airman, sailors or marines.

"This is what John meant. If you don't study hard before or during your military service, the army will use you to check for landmines."

You are very right.

I heard one of the Senators giving a speech about a woman who died in Iraq last week...I didn't catch her name, but I think she was in the Army....but her "specialty" was disarming explosives.

That is what she did for her fellow troops...and, she died. However, I would never, ever consider that she was doing that job because she is a "loser", as jon carry would catagorize her.

TGSL here... it was a long and very busy day. Started off very cold on the shady side of the National Archives building - but we had multiple bullhorns, which we put to good use as soon as the Pinkos started gathering a crowd at the Navy Memorial.

They had hung "pink slips" from the trees in the memorial park as well as banners on many surfaces in the park.

We chanted many things - Code Pink Kills - something about Hanoi Jane (I can't remember, brain tired). Our chanting was heard by the pinkos at their stage, and it upset them enough that they complained to the Park Police that we were too loud.

Too bad.

We had one MOAB that we recycled from when the lefties' marched at Arlington Cemetery -

Go To Hell Traitors
You Dishonor Our Dead
On Hallowed Ground

And we had this:

We had former Vietnam POW, Mike Benge stop by to offer his opinion of Jane Fonda...

And we had a wounded Iraq vet who also joined us (at the Navy Memorial as well as later in Upper Senate Park). Here's a teaser shot of him:

Much more happened at the park, along the lefties' march route. I've got video but it will take several days for me to upload it. We had a bunch of wounded soldiers from Walter Reed join us there. (I hope the lazy local Freepers and other conservatives who "couldn't be bothered" feel a twang of guilt that wounded soldiers had to stand in their stead on the streets of the US, too.) Quite a few of the lefties treated them pretty crappy - on camera. More later.

I found Tassi Mckee on the list of promotions in the Air Force Times. I think it is legit, sad that we have people like that. She appears to be very active in anti Bush activities from what I see from a search of the name.

I wonder if Sgt Mckee works at NSA? If so, she is not acting very "intelligently" by posting her comments on Kerry's website.

Let me see if I can find it, there is another link to her name on a site that was getting protesters to different sites. She volunteered to drive them to the airport and pick them up. BRB.

She appear to be linked to this Howard Dean outfit. If this is her she volunteered to be a trip leader for this outfit.

Driving Votes and Democracy For America are joining forces.

Founded by Gov. Howard Dean, Democracy For America is one of the largest, most innovative and influential progressive organizations in the country. DFA's goals are exactly in line with our own: to roll back the right-wing takeover of our country and put socially progressive, fiscally responsible candidates in office at every level of government, national, state and local. Driving Votes and DFA are part of the same movement, and by partnering we can work together and make the grassroots stronger.

Great pictures, tgslTakoma.

I am very happy to hear that some of the troops from Walter Reed made it...

Thank you, and all Freepers and troops for representing ALL of us that know the necessity of the war, and most of all, the necessity of total support of the troops and their mission.

I wish I could have been there. As the son of a Vietnam Veteran, I have a major beef with that witch and I am very eager for the oppurtunity to see her face to face.

However, I was able to stage my own protest at Hastings today by hiding three copies of her autobiography.

I had the pleasure of taking part in a PSA screening for Veterans meeting in Carlisle Pa. The thought of anyone not respecting the military makes me sad. What a great group of men.
