That's the one you linked earlier which didn't say anything about taking over I-35.

In fact, it kind of gives a probability swath when you drill down to the details.

Maybe I'm missing something, or maybe you are.

I know I'm pretty dense and don't have the brains that God gave a goat, but those swaths between Laredo and SA (ironically identified by the TTC as part of TTC-35) go right up I-35. And, the TTC admits it is planning to take over parts of I-35 in recent releases. Also, my realtor (she's a Christian moonbat) has done some research on the area since I'm looking for some property in that area and she confirms that the TTC is likely to consume a big part of the I-35 corridor.

It's also just coincidence, I'm sure, that the bulk of TTC-69 follows Highway 59 from Laredo all the way across Texas and up to I-20 at Texarakana. Not being the sharpst knife in the drawer, I know that the parts of I-35 that the TTC has their eye on and highway 59 were all built and paid for by benevolent, wealthy Texans who wanted to give something back to the state. Yeah, that's it. I know, I'm just one of those conspiracy nuts and I'm heading back to the moonbat cave for the night. We have a meeting at midnight to discuss ways to expand our moonbatty productivity. It begins with howling at the moon!!!

I guess I-45 and I-10 haven't been built by taxpayers. That is only part of the problem. Rick Perry is selling Texas one foot at a time.

OK, I followed you link.

Several clicks, a slow loading pdf file of a map, enlarge the the slow loading map, twice.

The map contradicts you. Why waste people's time?

Even your link says that the TTC will parallel those highways in various places.

That means NEAR them, not on them. If the opposition to the project is based on misinformation, then perhaps the opposition ought to reconsider.

The TTC is "supposed" to parallel and not take over or use the existing infrastructure but don't bet on it.

A lot of us voters were misinformed when we allowed this referendum to pass.

If this was so good for Texas than why didn't Texas do it themselves. As a Texan I personally think that this is the biggest land grab I have ever seen and again Perry is selling Texas foot by foot. And even though I voted for Dubya he is part of this land grab. It has already "the spanish consortium" been granted tax exempt status in Washington. This stinks to high he11 to me

I don't get it. Every new road is a "land grab." Are we done building new roads in Texas? Got all we'll ever need?

Either come out and state your opposition to any new road ever, or drop the "land grab" argument.

And why should YOU pay to build the road when someone is offering to build it for you for FREE? And nobody is going to force you to use it.

Can you provide links to those specific releases, not just a link to the TTC website? Since you read them you should be able to....

It's amazing that your 'Christian moonbat' can predict with accuracy what is going to happen with the roadway south of SA since it's not even in the study phase as of yet and may not be for several years. That kind of ability must be wonderful, you know sorta like Hillary's ability to read the cattle futures market.

From one of the press releases at the web site you linked to...

Now you are correct that the TTC-35 will have connections to I-35 south of SA and North of the DFW metroplex. Only makes sense to provide connecting points if'n you expect anyone to use it. Or maybe they could just magically appear at the entrance ramps.

Over a half a million acres done in such a way as to cut private property, public property, Counties and probably towns completely in half. I'm sure the state, no Spain will make sure that access across the "corridor" so when a farmer needs to plow his fields on the other side of the corridor there will be an easy way to get the tractor across.

This whole TTC thing reeks of good old boy lets make a deal in the back room stench.

Perry has not been open and honest about this and Texas is going to learn the hard way that Perry is a scoundrel

First of all, no construction contract has been awarded, so it's a little premature to say that Spain will be doing anything.

And you're making the same lousy arguments that were made against Eisenhower's plan to build the interstate highway system. "oooh, the farmers!"

Heck, they ended up with frontage property on a major highway worth millions of dollars. They survived.

Was the interstate highway system a bad idea? Should we demolish them and give the land back to the farmers?

Over a half a million acres

That would be if'n the entire 4,000 miles of TTC were to be constructed out at some future date, correct? The section of TTC35 that's being planned/discussed [San Antonio - Okla] takes nothing like that number of acres, correct?

The interstate highway system is not the Trans Texas Corridor.

TTC is a quarter of a mile wide, imagine taking the Turnpike in Okla and widening it. There are places where you would have to drive 20 to 30 miles to get access across.

And I only used the farm thing as one example of many problems this will become.

What I would really like done here is for Governor Hairdo to come out in public. Tell us the facts and the truth, hold these public forums/meetings and than allow the citizens of Texas to vote on the final plan

In other words, just like the interstate highway system in many places around the country.

Even if all 4,000 miles of the TTC is built, it will gobble up a whopping 0.29% of the land in Texas.

No the interstate highway system is not locked like a turnpike or the TTC is going to be. The interstates have overpasses, underpasses, easy access as far as crossing. road intersections etc.

The nature of the TTC is not going to allow easy access, ingress, egress.

And the Interstate Highway system is maintained by American Money. I have a major problem with turning our infrastructure over to a foreign country.

Ports, Airline Security, utilities, highways, especially in this day and age.
