FReeper Canteen ~ It's A Baby Shower ~ 09 January 07
The Canteen Crew | Serving The Best Troops In The World

Posted on 01/08/2007 5:59:26 PM PST by Kathy in Alaska

Welcome To The Canteen's Online Baby Shower
for all our Grandmothers-To-Be!
Luv W -- her son David, an active duty member of the US Air Force, and his wife are expecting baby #1

Lisa Malia - 2nd grandbaby, due in August

Mountain Flower - grandbaby due in July

Laurenmarlowe - grandbaby is due at the end of January

I like to walk with grandma,
Her steps are short like mine.
She doesn't say "Now hurry up",
She always takes her time.

I like to walk with grandma,
Her eyes see things like mine do -
Wee pebbles bright, a funny cloud,
Half hidden drops of dew.

Most people have to hurry,
They don't stop and see
I'm glad that God made Grandma.
Unrushed, and young like me.

~Poem by Thena Smith~

"Come think of it I think computer generated Rod Serling could beat Katie in the ratings ROFL rememeber Rod is dead that patheric part about it ROFL"

That would be very cool. Of course it wouldn't match the real thing, but if they could reproduce the voice, mannerisms, etc., (and give control to Fox News/Roger Ailes) it would be a ratings goldmine.

What a sweet thread, THANK YOU! You guys are amazing!

I remember years ago, hearing about an actress who had it written in her contract that she would never play a Grandmother. How sad!

Being a Grandma is the best! I didn't think anything in my life could surpass being a Mom. I'm not saying that being a Grandma is better...there's still nothing like the bond I have with my two adult children. However, the feeling of being a Grandma is indescribable. It's all the blessing of being a Mom, plus the pleasure of seeing your child go through the experience of being a parent.

My precious Ava Malia is the light of my life, as will be my future little bundle of blue or pink from my daughter and her hubby.
Love to all of you sweet folks at the Canteen,
GRAMMIE Lisa
