"religious differences are nothing to be afraid of." It would be nice if the majority of Muslims believed that.

The Islamists remind me so much of the communists. Like the communists, they are convinced that once everyone everywhere embraces their ideology, utopia emerges. They are both willing to slaughter as many people as they need to accomplish their goals. They have a consistent internal logic that allows them to ignore any argument to the contrary.
Unlike the communists, however, they are willing to kill themselves to accomplish their goals. Scary stuff.

I'm hoping some of TJ's sh*t stains are still on the koran.

Rather ironic (or hypocritical depending how you look at it.) After all the hoop-la a few years ago about Jefferson owning slaves, and the descendents of Sally Hemming, etc. Now a black man chooses to take the oath on a Quran owned by Jefferson.

It's a start. I think he should whip out a keffiyah and do an Arafat imitation. Maybe a couple of pistols on the hip. Give everyone a more complete understanding of what the ROP can contribute.

... who believed that knowledge and wisdom could be gleaned from any number of sources, including the Quran ... That ain't what Ellison is using it for.
I love watching liberals defend a religion that puts women in bags, doesn't let them be educated, bans music and literature, flogs homosexuals, cuts off limbs, spreads morality by the sword, etc. etc. etc.

An English translation of the Arabic, Jefferson's Quran was published in 1764 in London, a later printing of one originally published in 1734. According to Islamic tradition, a translation of the Koran is not a Koran, but a commentary on it. A Koran is real only if it is in the original Arabic. So those who didn't want him to swear on a Koran are actually getting their wish.

Thomas Jefferson wasn't a muslim because he owned a copy of the quran. I know several people who own the book of morman but that ownership of a book doesn't make them mormans. I'm a Christian and own many Bibles but owning them in no way makes me a Christian. Accepting Jesus as my Lord and Savior is what makes me a Christian. A book is a book. It's how it effects you that counts. This guy scares me and I'm fearless. Just take a good look at the picture at the lead of this article.

This thing of using the korraannn REALLY burns me up. What about swearing-in on the severed head of some innocent that the muslims have slain?
Oh, I know what, let's let politicians "take the oath" on....what?...maybe an empty beer can...or how about, maybe an empty cheetos bag?
Anything "empty" would work. After all, their oaths would be just as empty as what they're swearing on.
It just totally amazes me - the collosal stupidity of the left, that they don't see the "wrong" in this !

Thanks for including the info on MAS. I am sure you know of the CAIR connection also.
As long as the employees of the MSM make the silly Koran thing the only issue they are "spiking" the real news stories. It's what they do.
