Reporting for the Tuesday edition of CNNs "Newsroom," correspondent Arwa Damon labeled Saddam Husseins execution "an act of sheer revenge" and predicted it would have only negative consequences. Damon now joins NBC reporter Richard Engel who last week also described the death of the tyrant as "revenge." Additionally, Ms. Damon characterized the grainy cell phone footage of Husseins death as "chilling" and noted that onlookers "taunted" Saddam. The CNN reporter suggested that the execution of the former Iraqi leader would further split the country apart:
Arwa Damon: "With Shia chants defining Saddam Hussein's last moments, it turns his execution into an act of sheer revenge and risks driving even moderate Sunnis further away from the Shia-led government that they already have little faith in to begin with. And so, rather than uniting Iraqis, it appears that Saddam's death is really only further dividing them."

Exactly. Their follow up point is that winning wars is also bad because the folks you defeat don't like it and this makes them upset.
No problem. Accuracy is very important.
The reason I believe people do this is because it makes them feel good about themselves to question any execution. Even the most justified execution.
It is nice and dandy to philosophize about how it would be a perfect world if people didn't die or didn't have to be executed. But that ain't real world.
Also, the MSM, have a lot invested in the idea that the war in Iraq wasn't necessary and was just a Bush boondoggle that cost thousands of lives. Admitting that Saddam was an evil murderer would conflict with this idea.
Thanks for your service, Hunble!
I was elated at the news of his hanging. The lefties that we counter at our Friday night rally acted like their best friend had been done in. The video was, indeed, satisfying. Seeing justice meeted out by a liberated people is a joyous sight.

The media LOVES THE WORD DIVIDED
Americas enemies in the press always need an excuse to propagandize for our enemies on the battlefield.
If not this, it would be something else, if not something else, they will just make things up.
It is time for them to hang.
I was impressed with the new head of the UN. He suggested we must not forget the victims of Saddam Hussein and that the death penalty is up to individual member states.
thank you OldFriend... i did not know that, now i like him even more.
I saw only a short film clip and the man's english was halting but he seemed to be an honest broker on the world stage. We can only pray that he doesn't get compromised by some of the evil doers at the UN
Oh the horror... just imagine if they TOTALLY LOST IT and put panties on his head or something.
I swear... I knew the libs were going to eventually take this angle, but I didn't think it would come after only a few days.
Just sick...
