BAGHDAD, Iraq - The death of a Texas soldier, announced Sunday by the Pentagon, raised the number of U.S. military deaths in Iraq to at least 3,000 since the war began, according to an Associated Press count.

Spc. Dustin R. Donica, 22, of Spring, Texas, was killed Thursday by small arms fire in Baghdad, the Defense Department said.

Something for the media to celebrate this holiday season!/sarcasm

I only wish all the Saddam apologists and America-haters had joined him on the scaffold.

The traitors, the defeatists, and the cut and run are very happy. However their stupidity is incredible. In 45 months of war we lost 3,000 brave heroes, by far, far, and far, it is an extremely low number of casualties based on the duration of the war and puting thing in persepctibe to other long wars.

God bless our brave troops. God bless America.

That is a damn shame, but encouraging the other side to believing they can beat us is not going to shorten this conflict, or save any lives.

It came across the wire, and it is a Texan that was killed. Fot your hero, Hezbullah Mookie.

For the record, I'm not accusing you of anything. It's just that your posting history would lead one to think you posted this gleefully.

Why don't the press just go ahead and hire Jerry Lewis and Ed McMahon to do the casualty announcements?

Absolutely not.

Really? Or are you just saying that to save yourself? It takes a heck of a spin doctor to spin the death of Saddam into bad news for America, but somehow you manage. Give me one good reason why I shouldn't give you the boot?

This presents the image that the a death squad from the Madhi Army executed Saddam, not the impartial agents of a secular Iraqi state.

Presents the image? Who are we to believe, CNN or our lying eyes and ears? Mookie directed Maliki to cooperate. The United States of America just sanctioned the ascension of Iranian Hezbullah to power. With Mookie and the Hezbullah Mehdi Army becoming the power broker and the enforcement arm. But hey, the Iraqi people got to vote in an Islamic "democracy".
