I've been struck over the Christmas holiday, especially, by the difference between the message of Christianity and the message of Islam.
Jesus taught 2 rules, love God with your whole heart; and love your neighbor as yourself.
Mohammed accumulated many rules on how to inflict pain and punishment on enemies and loved ones alike.
I don't think many of us knew the fundamental differences until very recently, well after 9/11.
It's one thing for Islam to go up against Christianity. It could be quite another thing entirely to go against the Modern Medical Cults. ;-)

And I think many of us, in the broader sense, still do not. I think the President was in a difficult position after 9/11. He certainly didn't want to see mass retaliation against perfectly innocent Muslims, but I do think he went too far with that "Religion of Peace" stuff.
I have friends who actually think it improper to question Islam because it is, after all, a religion in their minds.

Just finished reading a quite long obit about Saddam and discovered, at the very end, that there may be another male spawn of Saddam out there.
"Saddam Hussein married, in 1963, Sajida Khairalla Talfah, and they had two sons and three daughters. But he also had a long-standing mistress, Samira Shahbandar, whom he married in 1986 after forcing her husband, the head of the Iraqi Airways, to divorce her. They had a son. There was a third marriage, to Nidal al-Hamdani."

CAIRO, Egypt - The deputy leader of al-Qaida accused moderate Arab leaders of being traitors for cooperating with the United States in a message posted on the Internet Saturday to mark the most important Islamic holiday.

Ayman al-Zawahri's wished the Palestinian people a happy Eid al-Adha, but lashed out at moderate Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and his
Fatah movement.
"Those who had sold Palestine, the secular traitors, cannot be your brothers. Do not recognize their legitimacy. ... And don't sit with them," al-Zawahri said in a 15-minute audiotape message posted on a Web site commonly used by Islamic insurgents.
Al-Zawahri did not mention
Saddam Hussein's execution, suggesting the tape was made before the ousted leader's hanging on Saturday.
The tape could not immediately be verified, but a banner posted on the Web site said it came from al-Qaida's media production house, al-Sahab.
Abbas met with Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert earlier this month in an effort to restart U.S.-backed peace talks between the Jewish state and the Palestinians. Abbas is jockeying with the radical Islamic Hamas group for popular support in the increasingly turbulent
West Bank and Gaza.
In the audiotape, al-Zawahri also denounced U.S. ally Egyptian President
Hosni Mubarak in an apparent reference to recent arrests and detentions of several members of the outlawed Muslim Brotherhood. "I greet my brothers inside the prisons of Mubarak, the traitor," he said.
Al-Zawahri extended his Eid greeting to
Iraq, praising the leader of al-Qaida in Iraq, Abu Omar al-Baghdadi, and urged Muslims in Somalia,
Chechnya, Indonesia, the Philippines and Algeria to keep on fighting the "infidels and crusaders."
