The Drop Broke Saddam's neck killing him instantly. At the executions following the Nuremberg Trials others were not so lucky.

A number of the hanged Nazis died, not quickly from a broken neck as intended, but agonizingly from slow strangulation. Ribbentrop and Sauckel each took 14 minutes to choke to death, while Keitel, whose death was the most painful, struggled for 24 minutes at the end of the rope before expiring..."

Yeah, that one cracks me up every time I look at it. In this instance, when I broke the news about Saddam's execution to my 15-yr-old son he immediately said, "You should post that applause picture!"
Listening to CNN, they seemed to have brushed off Saddam's death and have moved on to anxiously awaiting the 3,000th U.S. death in Iraq.
Only three to go, they tell us.

Barbarism defines humanity. That's the reason why Jesus is THE reason for the season! Regrettably sometimes barbarism requires a response in kind to maintain a world balance. I hope they used a piano wire in place of a rope. You ever see the aftermath of a nerve gas attack? I saw the pix of the attack Saddam ordered against the Kurds. Horrific just doesn't quite do it justice. I hope they looped a piano wire around his neck and made him stand on a block of ice until it melted to the point his own body weight caused the wire to accomplish decapitation.
