"For all of his faults (all presidents have noticeable flaws), I am and always will be grateful that George W. Bush is our President. His good character and his work ethic are to be admired and will be missed when he leaves the White House. He's taking a lot of flack these days, but people will miss him in the not-too-distant future years after he has departed the White House."

I agree!!!

I believe that I will save this thread with your post hi lighted.

It is absolutely outrageous what the media has been trying to do to this man since even before the 2000 election.

Yes. I'm certain all went into full-swing with Roosevelt. However, it didn't begin with him. He only utilized what had already been set-up by Lincoln. For Lincoln obliterated many of the Southern men who knew what their rights were as set by the founding fathers. You see, those men were an impediment to Lincoln's concept that the Federal Government should have all the power. The founding fathers proclaimed the government to exist for the people. Lincoln proclaimed that the people should exist for the government...

Lincoln's concept sounds incredibly similar to that of a Dictator...

"The president does what he believes to be in the best interest of the United States. He sticks with his beliefs, no matter how intense the criticism and invective that are directed against him every day.

I want to take this back to where it started. It is a tribute to our good, decent, courageous President!~

So I guess you think he should check the polls

I'm not talking about checking the polls, so get off it.
I'm talking about people contacting the White House directly through fax, email, or telephone to express their views for, or against, any decisions that the President gives views on prior to making a decision.

I understand that there are times when a decision has to be made at the moment. I also understand that there may be information the public is not privy to that causes a decision to be made.

I did not, however, help to elect a dictator, I helped to elect a representative of the people, just like any other elected official should be.

Get off it? You have problems with someone responding to the implication of your words?

Sorry about that.

As for electing a 'dictator'........that's pretty funny. Not really worth responding to, however....
