"You want to protest American policies? Fine. But if your activities serve to undermine our national security and threaten our collective future, we don’t have to tolerate it. After all, your actions are really threatening our lives. Threats like that cannot go unchallenged."

I hear this call ... anyone else?

I have been hearing that call ever since the CIA fifth column sponsored Valerie Plame incident.

Will it lead to a civil war iin the USA, rural areas against the jingoized Urbanites, mostly who support the sedition and treason they have promulagated as a new form of Political Correctness?

It is time for it to end, and if not, the government must act, or Americans will start acting instead.

The key idea of the essay is : ""A nation can survive its fools and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and he carries his banners openly against the city. But the traitor moves among those within the gates freely, his sly whispers rustling through all alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. … He rots the soul of a nation; he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of a city; he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist." -- Cicero

I say Circero was wrong. The USA is one proof -- the USA was born and grew strong with many, close to most, inhabitants of this country against nearly every war we fought. We were born with much sedition and treason within, and have never been rid of it. A large number and at times most colonial-era inhabitants were against the Revolution. Our Civil War was one beloved brother "treasonous" to the other beloved brother.

Circero speaks for the Roman ideal -- and that died. It was not viable. We are a different ideal. We are NOT Rome.

If treason from within weakens us then it is merely a simple extrapolation to suggest that an excess of such betrayal can actually take us down.

I mean it is a testament to the morality of our people that we can survive the treason being unleashed on us today. Our ability to survive the loss of morality in our people is a grim prospect.

"I say Circero was wrong."

I wonder if this Circero you speak of spoke in Pig Latin.

P.S. My money is on him. (Ham?)

Members of Congress, speaking on the floor, cannot commit sedition or treason.

As Stalin said: "If I could control Hollywood, I could rule the world."

The land of make believe:

Revelation 17:8 The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.

True, but they can when acting/speaking in other venues, such as the Presidential Palace of the Baathist Assad of Syria. Congress isn't even in session, and "floor" is not located in Syria, neither is travel to Syria on the path of travel to and from DC from/to the various Congressional Districts or states.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Our government schools are working day after day to destroy the morality of the next generation.

Over the past 30 years, members of Congress have blatantly aided and abetted enemies of our country. The outspoken Rep. Nancy Pelosi, D-CA, for example, lobbied for the release of jailed El Salvadorian FMLN terrorists during that country’s civil war. So did then-Rep. Barbara Boxer, D-CA. Instead of being investigated for her activities on behalf of communists, Nancy Pelosi has been elected by her Democratic colleagues as the House Minority Leader! Boxer went on to become a U.S. Senator.

Many congressmen made a notorious trip to Nicaragua in the 1980s to discuss ways Daniel Ortega’s communist government could counter President Ronald Reagan’s strategy there. Relatives of Sen. Ted Kennedy, D-MA, conducted business with the communist government of Angola while Kennedy himself voted against funding the Angolan anti-communist rebels we supported. Former Rep. Ron Dellums, D-CA, often bragged of his desire to dismantle U.S. intelligence "brick by brick." The charming Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-NY, never met a leftist dictator she didn’t love. Don’t even get me started on Bill.

Flapping your gums is not sedition. Believe me, conservatives do not want to go down this road - President Hillary would love to respond in kind. The proper remedy for this type of speech - which is simply a vision for America (Marxism) that the average citizen does not agree with - is to vote them out of office.
