The Ohio Senate voted Tuesday to override outgoing Gov. Bob Taft's veto of a bill that would wipe out local gun laws, marking the first time in 29 years the Legislature have rejected a gubernatorial veto.
The GOP-dominated Senate voted 21-12 to override the Republican governor's veto. Three Republicans voted against overriding, and three Democrats voted in favor of an override, including the attorney general-elect Marc Dann of Youngstown. The House, also controlled by Republicans, voted to overturn Taft's veto last week.

Boy, Taft really stunk up Ohio for the GOP. I am glad to see that jerk gone.
Now those 3 comrades need to be override.
Let's not rejoice yet. Wait to see if somebody files a lawsuit that lets an activist judge invalidate the override vote.

Thus supporting state level preemption of local/municipal gun control...... whew!
HUZZAH!!! Virginia "Sic Semper Tyrannis" did this a year or so ago, and the boon has been most felt in Northern Virgina. Increased access to gun shows now that county-gov-critters couldn't impose heinous waiting periods (30 days in Arlington!), a potential for more gunshops, and dissolution of the stupida55 patchwork quilt of legislation covering concealed carry.

After this disgrace (Taft IV), I half expect the Cincy law firm of Taft, Stettinius & Hollister to change its name to Stettinius & Hollister.

why is it liberals usually whine the loudest about" home rule" linking it to slavery but when it comes to the second ammendment "home rule" is a good thing?? The hypocrisy of the left knows no bounds does it?
we need politicians who regard the second ammendment ,like the rest of the BORs as an individual right and we need a national carry law. If I am a responsible enough citizen to have had a carry permit for over 20 years and can carry in my state why am I suddenly not a good enough citizen to carry in any state?
I don't want a national carry law. I want a national "no permit necessary for anyone who's not a convicted felon" law. I carry at all times and have, reluctantly, a permit, but what other right enumerated in the Bill of Rights requires "permission"?

I agree 100% with your point. as long as you are not a convicted felon, nutcase, or drunk/doper you should have the right to be unencumbered by having to get "permission:" from your governmant to excercise your civil rights according to the Constitution.
