Bush Says Victory in Iraq is Important
(Excerpt) Read more at foxnews.com ...
I hit the abuse button on our 'friend'.
You can never lose face by winning! Winning isn't everything, it's the only thing.
I get the feeling you don't care about our young men and women coming back dead, so politicians can have "peace with honor"...which means....we are outta here.
Yes, can Congress be saved from themselves?
yea we'll have to do something about those democrats
I doubt Baker thought he'd be questioned, but has had a good surprise. We're not buying into the idiocy of his report.
Further, the left got elected on the BRING THE TROOPS HOME NOW platform. There is nothing in the report that recommends such action.
It was truly a dog and pony show, fit for the Ringling Brothers Circus.
P.S. I'm a 'her'.
You can shove your 'feelings' up your rear.
Jon Carry was manageable evil.A medium burn to us to remove him,Hillary is the whole fire, molten in travel and as consuming. We will need a higher power me thinks. She is that evil.
Me too. As someone who served in Vietnam, I don't want to see us snatch defeat from the jaws of victory once again. I am hearing and seeing the same unsettling signs again of politicians taking the most expedient way out. Declare victory and leave, nevermind the consequences for those left behind. Only this time, the stakes are far higher for us. It will not only have consequences for the Middle East, but for Taiwan and Latin America. Paraphrasing Joe Louis, "We can run, but we can't hide."
Don't you DARE use our soldiers' sacrifice as an excuse to peddle your leftist filth again on this forum.
oops on the " I'm a her"
got any cookies ?........lmaorolf
He is using the deaths of our soldiers to peddle his leftist, cowardly propaganda.
I wonder if he's a 'journalist' for the NYTimes.
Personally, I think Baker was tired of being out of the spotlight and wanted to be the toast of the DC cocktail party circuit for a while. The 9/11 Commission showed him the way to get what he wanted - use his committee to relentlessly trash President Bush, and wrap up all of the Dim/media/hard left talking points about Iraq into one neat package and present it as the authoritative report on it.
The 9/11 Commission did this with the attacks, and they continue to this day to be wined and dined and fussed over and paid attention to and treated like all-knowing sages by the Beltway "elites." Baker took one look at that said, "Hey, I can do that myself and get the same treatment!"
"Perhaps if he actually defined the specific conditions of "victory" it would make more sense to the majority of Americans."
Are you kidding?? How many times does he have to define them? 1) Topple Saddam (check). 2) Elected, representative government in Iraq (check). 3) Train Iraqi army and Iraqi police to be able to defend their own country and stabilize it (in progress) 4) Do this while rebuilding schools, hospitals, infrastructure (in progress) 5) When country is secure, bring our troops home (pending).
Point #3 is not something that you can just pop in a microwave and have it be done in 3 minutes. WHY is this so difficult for people to understand???
it is or isn't but NYT journalists and close Hillary leaches post here to effect us.
LOL, I am much more conservative than you have ever been. I'm also conservative enough to want to actually win the war.
The ISG report is the death knell of this war in Iraq. I strongly believe in fighting to win or get out. We were never supposed to live anothe Vietnam again...but the politicals are doing it right now.
I want our brave soldiers out...somebody has to think of the soldiers while our govt begins to get "peace with honor" yet again.
Funny you people are alerting the Mod to me after people have consistently told me to shut up etc. Now, shut up, that is a nice E. Clift argument.
The President can use an address to the nation to go directly to the American people and over the heads of the MSM. It could include a briefing by top military leaders on what is going on in Iraq in terms of the war effort and the successes in terms of the rebuilding of the infrastructure. It could also include a presentation by the Iraqi government. IMO, the President has not used his bully pulpit well enough. That is the reality, ohioWfan.
your words match what my eyes say...dittos
"It ain't over 'til it's over"
I thought that was Yogi Berra who said that.
No, not as long as being reelected is their highest goal.
