This brave hero SURELY saved these girls' lives. He will be testifying in the trial soon. He has been very afraid to come forward.

And who could blame him? The first witness was a young black woman of 18 who was there with her little baby and helped the victims after the attack, as well as helping to identify the attackers. On the morning she was to testify, she looked out the window and saw 6 gangbangers SITTING on her car. She called the police and was escorted to the trial.

Notice that the thugs acted as part of a crowd while the righteous people stood out from or against the crowd and acted as individuals.

I guess one of the lessons here is that while it is tempting to read accounts like this and look at all black people as low-life savages, there are some good and very brave black people out there. The ones who intervened are risking a lot - they have to live in the neighborhood.
