Reaching out to the likes of Reid and Pelosi is akin to reaching out to hug a bonfire.

If Senator Reid is serious about ethics reform his first step would be to tender his resignation.

"We're going to put in some hours here that haven't been put in in a long time," Reid said. That means "being here more days in the week and we start off this year with seven weeks without a break. Nice of them to really bust their humps. I will work 20 weeks of 10-12 hours days beginning in January before I will get a day off; Memorial Day. Which in a related item, comes just about the time I will have my tax bill for 2007 paid.

It kind of makes ya wonder what they have been doing for 6 years.. other than playing roadblock and seeking to obstruct the path to prosperity and proposed reform as often as they could.

He said "the first thing we do" will be to try to cut the practice of lawmakers anonymously inserting "earmarks"...Do Robert Byrd and John Murtha know about this?

He said the White House has not reached out to him since his meeting with Bush in the Oval Office on Nov. 10. That's right, Putz.
Your turn.

I think the D's spent the last 6 years tearing away at Bush and doing subtle things to fracture the Republican caucus. Subtle things like throwing in the felon provision in the immigration bill being one of the more obvious things.

I like a do nothing congress, and by just leaving the D's get to show what they can do.
The minimum wage being raised will remove that issues from possible ballot amendments across the US. So people who don't normally vote will not get the chance to "vote themselves a raise".
Next to Hilliary giving a speech, Reid saying that "We are going to put hours in here that haven't been seen in a long time" is disconcerting to say the least.
Liberals working overtime to pass laws is never a good thing for the country.

If EMBYRONIC stem cell research was successful, there would be no need for the government to support it. Private industry would be on top of this money-making deal.
