A Phenomenon Called Senator Kennedy 11/27
During the Cold War, the behavior of Western politicians in their contacts with the Soviets varied quite widely, from hostile polemics to shameless collaboration. What was Senator Kennedys place in this wide spectrum?
Of course, Kennedy was not the only U.S. senator to visit the USSR. A few exceptions aside, however, they usually came as a group. As far as we can see in the documents, Kennedy always came alone.
Then, no other senator contacted the Soviets as often as Kennedy did. Nor were his relations with Moscow at all restricted to official visits. His chief of staff, Larry Horowitz, would journey there on Kennedys instructions several times a year. No other U.S. senator had a similar envoy.
All these facts are probably well-known to those who follow such matters. Serious questions about Kennedys role in the Cold War have been asked more than once before. From time to time, some bits of his mysterious story are revealed only to demonstrate that much more of it still remains in darkness.
Now it happens again, with professor Paul Kengor quoting from a top-secret KGB report about their contacts with Kennedy, in his new book The Crusader: Ronald Reagan and the Fall of Communism. The document, first released in the Sunday Times by Tim Sebastian in 1992, reveals how Kennedy secretly offered the KGB to work together to undermine President Reagan. This proposal was conveyed to the Soviets by former senator John Tunney in 1983.

He is just doing what his daddy did when he tried to sell England to Hitler. I'm sure it is seen as his birthright and he will pass it down to his children.
His old man got away with it in WWII, this nut just fell close to the old Kennedy tree.
So why isn't this idiot on trial for treason? Somebody please explain that to me. Please.
I have begun to wonder if perhaps Mr. Kennedy was a bought and paid for functionary of the USSR in America. Or would he have done as he did out of ideological conviction?
'cause when you're a democrat, it's...different.
Republicans are afraid of Democrats or Republicans believe that Democrats are the Rightful Rulers and possess some of the characteristics of Divine Right rulers. You know, Camelot and all that.
Not "bought and paid for". Kennedy obviously did what he did out of choice. He was pro-Soviet and anti-Reagan because he wanted to be.
It was his choice to act in a traitorous manner -- because he actually favored the Soviet Union over America.
The MSM will never report these findings, of course. They won't be outraged; one wonders if they're even embarrassed about them.
How could MSM, or academic liberals, for that matter possibly be embarrassed? America is loathsome while the USSR was a beacon of hope to downtrodden humanity, even if it was a bit messy about the implementation.
Kennedy and Kerry are both Communist traitors IMO. Cant say much for the state that keeps sending them back to do more harm to the US.
It means the next election Kennedy will likely get elected by the idiot voters of Massachusetts by an even greater margin.
The only thing that will ever take Kennedy down is the complete failure of his liver. Until then, America is stuck with this loathsome criminal.
"He is just doing what his daddy did when he tried to sell England to Hitler"
Amen. Joe Kennedy also hated Franklin Roosevelt. The family's only loyalty seems to be to themselves. They are like the Bonapartes of France - they think they should rule by virtue of their name. Thomas Jefferson would have had some choice words for the Kennedy clan.
"'cause when you're a democrat, it's...different."
Yes, Democrats are smarter than the average peasant, and always on the side of the angels.
"the fact that he gets away with it is far more disturbing..."
the whole lot of them "get away with it".
the shame is that general patton's ideas should have been given some credence......to deal with the soviet union on a military basis, thereby saving countless millions of lives.
to have beaten it into the ground would have taken away the legitimacy of it in the face of it's not having been opposed since 1917. here in the states, there were and still are a bunch of rapacious communists hiding behind the label of an american institution; the democratic party. they keep pushing pushing, and pushing and are hell bent on fomenting terrible problems here.
I doubt Fat Teddy could tell the difference between Camelot and Camel Toe in his usual drunken state. Wait, scratch that, he probably could tell the difference.
"why isn't this idiot on trial for treason....?"
---good point, but that is precisely why there is always
a din coming from the Left that the RIGHT should be put on trial for treason, or Crimes against Humanity, or whatever. It is the old "distraction" maneouevre, often used to control very young children, which is how the Dems see the Voting Public in general.

For the same reason Hastart used in trying to protect Jefferson of La. a professional crook.
Our congress critters are above the law and, this is not a thought, it is a fact.
