Don't put your trust in McCain. IMO, he is the one person who is most responsible for what happened on Nov. 7. CFR is what gave rise to the 527s and so much power to evil manipulators like George Soros and the "gang of 14" in the Senate really infuriated those conservatives for whom judicial appointments are one of their most important issues (like me). He has no chance of becoming POTUS.

Don't get me wrong, I have zero trust in McCain. I am merely pointing out that since he is running for the nomination, he will find it in his interest to at least start bashing the Democrats, if not actually standing up to them. If he wants to fight for a tax cut or organize a filibuster against some particularly obnoxious piece of Democrat legislative excrement, more power to him.

As for his chances for the nomination, I'm hoping that he'll be knocked out in the early primaries.

IF this story is accurate, Republicans should be careful for what they wish for, if they manage to trash Pelosi until she is ineffective as Speaker, and perhaps even force her out (because she has plenty of ethics issues among the skeletons in HER closet too), they would probably end up with Speaker of the House Steny Hoyer, who looks like, talks like, and acts like a statesman (even when engaging in raw partisan behavior).

Pelosi, even on her best day, acts like a ditzy bimbo without even the minimal amount of common sense that a functioning adult should have.
