Could there have been TWO Sauls???
I mean, a 'young Saul' was mentioned just a line or two before the phrase 'and Saul was there' - why the need to restate what was just said?
Perhaps the 'young man' adjective was to differenciate between the two?
One Saul, When 1st introduced we are provided description.
See Acts 20:19-20 (Saul Speaking)
19"And I said, 'Lord, they themselves understand that in one synagogue after another I used to imprison and beat those who believed in You.
20'And when the blood of Your witness Stephen was being shed, I also was standing by approving, and watching out for the coats of those who were slaying him.'

Thanks for providing the Scripture; I had overlooked it in my search. It sure appears that there was but ONE Saul/Paul, and that he WAS a 'young' man. (I now wonder what 'young' means ;^)
But... it was HERE...
NIV Acts 22:19-20
19. "`Lord,' I replied, `these men know that I went from one synagogue to another to imprison and beat those who believe in you.
20. And when the blood of your martyr Stephen was shed, I stood there giving my approval and guarding the clothes of those who were killing him.'
Not here...
NIV Acts 20:19-21
19. I served the Lord with great humility and with tears, although I was severely tested by the plots of the Jews.
20. You know that I have not hesitated to preach anything that would be helpful to you but have taught you publicly and from house to house.
