Your hopeless and you will never change your uncompromising attitude. Thats why evangelicals are spreading and Catholics are declining.
*************
Sometimes less is more. Remember, Christ started with only twelve.
Um, that's not true either.
In case you want more reference, this also comes from 1 Cor:
"Are you free from a wife? Do not seek marriage. . . . Those who marry will have worldly troubles, and I would
spare you that. . . . The unmarried man is anxious about the affairs of the Lord, how to please the Lord; but the married man is anxious about worldly affairs, how to please his wife, and his interests are divided." (7:27-34)
This is not, of course, an exhortation for everyone to be celibate, but it certainly explains the reasonableness of the Church's attitute toward the subject. She wants her priests' attention to be undivided.
Can't compromise on the truths revealed to us by Christ's Church, nor are we to disobey the disciplines of His Church.
"If he will not listen to the church, treat him as a pagan or tax collector." --Jesus
Evangelicals are spreading because they compromise with the culture? I'm not sure they would consider that a compliment!
Besides, we're not declining. Mainline Protestantism is declining. Catholicism is growing, especially in Africa and Asia.
evangelicals is a very very broad term.
For example if a church is in san francisco and is "christian" which says there is nothing wrong with homosexuals sodomizing each other or recruiting, that still gets put in the evangelical population because it is not a traditional church.
Evangelical means "not traditional".
Ie Wallis' socialist propaganda is evangelical.
