ROVIDENCE, R.I. - Two days after losing a bid for a second term, Sen. Lincoln Chafee (news, bio, voting record) said he was unsure whether he would remain a Republican.
Chafee lost to Democrat Sheldon Whitehouse in a race seen as a referendum on President Bush and the GOP. On Thursday, he was asked whether he would stick with the Republican Party or become an independent or Democrat.
"I haven't made any decisions. I just haven't even thought about where my place is,".......
As I understand it, Problem is, before he goes, he will be voting on Boltons UN post and be the deciding vote. I wonder if he will stick it in the Repubs eye before he slithers away.
Alright already, I keep reading this, but he's still here.
Note to "Linc"
"Here's your hat, where's your hurry ?"
Chafee's job was to frustrate conservatives while the GOP was in power by siding with the Demos.
Now that the Demos are in power, he is no longer needed.
Are you surprised?

(last one is a scrappleface spoof - but a good one)
I believe that he's already said that he would.
Good idea. Let's make sure the Republican Party is not competitive anywhere in the northeast, industrial midwest or pacific coast. /sarc
Does anybody really think that:
Rummy resigning *after* the election rather than before,
Bolton resigning *after* the election rather than before,
Chafee resigning *after* the election rather than before,
Are all 'coincidences'?
Open your eyes, they are screaming.
Don't let the door hit you in the butt on the way out.
why waste our time with this garbage...he is a
true blue nitwit who rode his father's coattails
all his life....never did a thing for the party or
anyone else, except his own agenda..which is as
liberal as it gets..good riddance. Jake
Chafee was never a Republican.
Let's face it...Sure is nice to win... but at ANY PRICE? even if you start to stink yourself?...
No, I AM NOT HAPPY we lost... but it's a wonderful time to CLEAN UP. Hech WE LOST... I feel, well.. LIBERATED?:)
Good, and he can take McLame, Snow, and all the other RINO's with him.
And the problems what?
Buh bye there Lincoln you p.o.s
"Chafee may leave Republican Party"
"He's a Republican? Who knew?"
Beat me to it.
Second the Motion!!!!
Yup, that's my argument. Freepers may not like it, but 99 times out of 100, Toomey loses in PA, Laffey loses in RI, etc. Movement conservatives are not going to win in the northeast, industrial midwest and far west.
