Everyone has to believe in something. We can use our free will to choose who/what to believe in. Every belief is a leap of faith. The difference between believing in God and believing in not-God is that God can show us from within that He really does exist, and this knowledge transcends all mental beliefs about not-God. The soul is hungry for God, and when believing in not-God, experiences an emptiness than nothing can fill. People who are saturated in rage, hatred and lust are not expriecing God at all.

Aw, Jeez, there's nothing so bad that someone won't try to promote his own neurosis with it.

Some people think it's more of an "Allah" vacuum.

God answers the prayers of the humble.

America, I fear, is still too proud.

"We can't – and won't – win this war without God."

We won't win as a nation. Only as a christian people. Trying to push nation-state politics through a religious lens falls through the trapdoor when recognizing Jesus's comments that his kingdom is not of this world.
We are only buying time, but it is ordained evil will prevail for a short while. We need to focus on souls. Doesn't mean we should lay down. We can't make it easy for satan. But as we cut down our brother, satan will be laughing the entire time.

The World War II generation believed in God. They believed that this God was the God of the Ten Commandments and the Sermon on the Mount. They believed He created us in His image and that human life was therefore sacred, which meant we don't slaughter our offspring in the womb nor kill off our parents when they get old and sick. They believed in biblical morality when it comes to sex, which meant homosexuality, adultery and "shacking up" were sinful and wrong.

Sorry, but it's not like 1940s America was Utopia. That generation and the others before it had their shortcomings, too. We can pine all we want for the "good ol days", but things were never as bad as they seemed or as good as we've heard at the time.

When God withheld His protection from ancient Israel because of the disobedience and faithlessness of His people, there was only one possible solution: They had to repent of their pride and folly and come back to Him.

Can the liberties of a nation be thought secure when we have removed their only firm basis, a conviction in the minds of the people that these liberties are a gift of God? Indeed I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just; that His justice cannot sleep forever.

This is incorrect. The "greatest generation" was only great because God used them to bless the West and defeat Hitler. For the most part, they were liberal protestants who were "moral", but not truly Christian. They came home after the war and put into effect one horrible liberal government institution after another. The mainline protestant churches were ripe with liberal heresy when the "greatest generation" came of age. God gets the glory for America's success in WWII.

"and death sentences for leaving the Muslim religion, or even for preaching Christianity, as occurs in Pakistan under its notorious "blasphemy laws.""

If only enough Americans new about this fact, Pakistan wont have been such a darling of America.

And the WWII generation committed vast amounts of all three of the above.

As others have mentioned, people need to take off their rose-colored glasses regarding the past.

I disagree with it only because the author avoids the ugly reality that other more evil and powerful forces are behind the moronic Islamic muderers. Where do these idiots get their weapons surely you arent idiotic enough to believe they could make something as complicated as a auto onmouseover="return (window.status='auto');" onmouseout="window.status='';">automatic AK? Or a koronet anti tank missile? Well the evil behind the idiot bastard BinLaden is China and Russia the Islamists are useful idiots for now easily dealt with later the Iraq thing is emboldening the Reds. Because we dont have leaders who will kill the enemy in totality, Americans are to soft for the dirty job ahead. The author also misses a key reason why the Israelites were constantly plagued by their idiot neighbors, when they first took possesion of the land they were commanded to kill "all" the Amalakites children included but they failed to do so. God promised that the Israelites would pay for this failure for generations. That is our problem we cant imagine ourselves wiping whole countries off the map. If we want to survive we better start kicking some asses!

"How can anyone disagree with this?"

I can't. I've thought this all along, but David Kupelian states it more eloquently and succinctly, being the clear-visioned, dedicated disciple of Jesus Christ that he is. And a good writer, because he organizes his data so well and then states it in fluent English, something not as common as one might suppose these days.

I think he's a watchman on the wall. He certainly sounded the alarm in "The Marketing Of Evil"!
