Yeah - I remember that from back in the day when you had that popping up at DU.

Well, now it's payback time. Time to take back this country from the party that had power and no idea how to use it - except for war, higher oil prices, and letting terrorists attack us at home.

Weak at every turn from immigration to...well just about everything. bush let you down, leaders were humiliated and had to leave, and family values leaders fell to adultery and meth.

Tonight was like shooting fish in a barrel. Iraq is a mess. You won the war in a few days and lost in a few years of hell.

It was Jimmy Carter's idea before it was Bush's. It was also Reagan's, Bush 41's and Clinton's. But it wasn't a problem until Bush 43 did it and the Dems realized that the details were classified so they could let out only enough info to make Bush look bad while conveniently forgetting to mention that it's been going on forever with the approval of Congress, the courts, etc.

And Bush, as usual, did not adequately defend himself. Had it been me, I would have gotten up in a press conference and named names. "Senator Blowhard, you're on the Intelligence Committee. You approved this. Senator Arrogant, so did you." And so on. Bush has never wanted to fight fire with fire. He took the compassionate part of conservative way too seriously. When people are bald-faced lying about you to the American people, you kick butt and take names. The fruit of his unwillingess to do that is what we've seen tonight.

From requiring more and more information...

You really meant "acquiring", I'd guess.

Intrusions in your life for the last six years? I'm torn between laughing and crying! I'm reminded of a line from an old song"

You tell me your dreams and I will tell you mine.

Intrusions. An interesting descripion of life's problems...never thought of them that way, but I doubt anyone escapes them; sadly they are part of life and I'm truly sorry for anything you have had to suffer.

How do they affect one's political ideology?

Yep, by not fighting back, Bush allowed the lies about him to become urban legend. And there's no snopes.com to set the record straight.

Even moderate, sane people believe lies when there's no truth to be had.

I am glad to be out of here. I finally saw some light, and it was not emanating from here.

Diversity is a part of the American way...

Just wondering. Were you, as a child, reared in a home with two lesbian "moms" or two gay "dads"? If so, was that an acceptable environment for you?

If not, can you truthfully say that you would be perfectly comfortable with that kind of home life?

In my home I had a female mother and a male father whose marriage lasted 55 years, when my Dad died.

I'm thankful for both of them and can't imagine, in my wildest dreams, having two moms or two dads. It's simply unnatural.

...we all can't have everything we want.

You hit the bulls eye on that one! Obviously some people are so damned selfish that they think society should mold itself to accommodate their every desire. It seems like that's the kind of mentality we're dealing with these days.

Do these same liberals extend their compassion to the many fine married folks who cannot have a child they dearly want? Obviously not, if they condone abortion of a child rather than allow the baby to be born and adopted by parents who will love and care for them.

But "no". Snuff the life out of them instead.

Trust the logic of liberals. They have the right answers. (sarc)

Like it or not, Republicans better learn that they must fight fire with fire...that they have to meet their opponents on the same battlefield. In this area, they kowtow to political correctness...the very nonsense that Democrats worship.

So where did you go? Just curious. I doubt it's DU.

I think you've missed a lot here. People do condemn Bush for shameful enforcement of our borders and unlimited spending. It's obviously destroyed the base this election. We screamed over CFR. We all felt the war in Iraq was being restrained by rat terrorist sympathizers.

So maybe it was the way you condemned things that got you banned. Don't know.

Either way, what could you suggest as an alternative as far as the Republicans? Can't win without their money...but we've been left with some pretty slim pickin's. Obviously it just got worse.

I have thought it would take a major disaster to bring the reality of this war and this enemy to enough Americans that we can actually concentrate on survival. Both campaigns, for most Americans have involved only payback and Nation-Building. Few understand the nature of the assault on America. I am not sure W even understands it. He has become mired in hearts-and-minds when the war is Existential for the West. The Center of the resurgent Mohammedan Empire, that is Iran this time around, must be utterly destroyed before the West is secure from that quarter. The siege of this century's Vienna will involve nukes and the Democrats and others, like ChessMan perhaps, will be ready to impose Sharia on Americans rather than face the fact that the war has come to our own shores. Even if we ultimately Save Vienna, Europe is gone. Even if we prevail against Iran, Europe will sink into Moslem Malaise and will look more and more like Syria.

terrorist attacks will be on the upswing to 2008 to influence that election.

Especially if the Crats succeed in dismantling domestic security. I am afraid that if we take a couple of major hits in the next 2 years, and the next ones will be worse than 9-11, the people will blame the sitting president and elect Mrs. Clinton in 08.

You seem to be missing the fact that the left has its own brand of faith to impose on society.

So, because the liberals do it, it's okay for the conservatives to do it too? If that is the case, then the choice becomes between two statist positions with individual liberty tossed out the window.
