What Republicans need to learn from tonight...
11/07/06 | Philistone

The most important thing that Republicans should learn from tonight is that America is a representative democracy.

This does NOT mean that your congress critter shares ALL your beliefs, or that he is a perfect human being, but rather that, in general, he votes the way you want him to.

It's like hiring a lawyer. You may despise his personal life and his principles, but what is important is that he WINS YOUR CASE.

Democraps could care less about the morals of their elected officials as long as they win.

Republicans could learn a lesson here...

"
I've heard some on FR blaming the voter for the republicans failure to keep the house.
"

The people have spoken, the b*st*rds.

"

Hope the republican party learns a lesson here. Run on conservative values, legislate conservatively."

Then how come real conservatives (Hayworth, Graf, Santorum) lost? That's a facile answer.

Well, Nancy Congress here we come.

This will be bad bad bad in so many ways ... we forget that the conservatives had wilderness *decades* without any real power, because of the power the House wields in the Democr*p hands.

Be very afraid.

Very eloquent. Enjoy saying "Madame Speaker Pelosi." And choke on it.

Did someone say "Pelosi?"

At least three times a day, I hear her
The media whores are always near her
Can't we find someone to replace
Nancy, with the ghastly face?
She claims that winter will become summer
If we don't drive hybrids and ditch our hummers
Picture a botox-ed disgrace
That's Nancy with the ghastly face
Did you ever see someone stomp kittens?
Well, she'll give you that very same low
When she shrieks it makes worse, all that spinning
Just hear her say "big oil"
She's no Kucinich , or Lahey the "Leaker"
Sorry for us, SHE'S NOW THE "Speaker"
A danger to the human race
Nancy, with the ghastly face

Define the top 3 conservative values/issues that will win
us 2008.

Not a rhetorical question ... I have a deep-seated fear we conservatives are painted into a corner, but I'd like to get the 'winning issues' defined.

"The Democrats are winning because they ran as conservatives. The republicans are losing because they governed as liberals."

Explain Hillary, Menendez and the liberals in PA House races.

During the Foley incident, Hastert looked old, fat, sick and VERY slow on his feet. IMHO, that stopped the momentum that the Party had gained in September. But it showed a deeper problem, which is that the party tore its pants straddling such moral issues as gay marriage and, of course, the pork issue. By refusing to act after the Abramoff revelation, by its inability to put up even the appearence of reform, you get a mess. So who do YOU want as speaker?

The speaker is going to be a Democrat and therefore nobody I want.

Yeah, so if our leaders are found to be morally corrupt, that means they are correctly representing a morally corrupt nation, right?

I personally do not know of any neo-con lies, I would like to know what you felt were lies versus bad intelligence.

I personally thought we would loose this war from the beginning. I do not think people in this country really understand that this war (the war on terror) could easily last 100 years. Democracies cannot stomach long fights. We have been fighting with one hand tied behind our back because of a determined left wing and the media.

Bush has done a horrible job managing the PR. I support the war 100 percent, but I am afraid the USA is about to find out what a determined enemy really is, one more dangerous than militarized Japan. Only this time when we leave, it will not mean killing fields in Cambodia, it will mean radicalized regimes throughout the Middle East and an emboldened China and Russia. Mark my words, we will agandon Israel over the next 10 years. The left hates Israel, she is the real looser tonight.

She'll try to defund the Iraq War...but that's not going to happen.

The investigations...well...that's another story.

Sadly, Civil War II...might be just around the corner...

Lesson - Act like republicans or sit in minority for next 40 years.

Then again, in 40 years, this would be Machacha country.

Republicans/Conservatives were rejected by Americans.

They obviously wanted higher taxes, socialized medical care, minimum wage hike, abortion, fetus research, gay marrage, to leave Iraq to the Islamic Cults, they want terrorist to by tried in our cts, no harsh interrogation, no Patriot act,ect

Right?

Do you believe Americans really want all these things?

If you do then obviously no Republican can win with them.

If you don't, then obviously American's are seriously uninformed, ignorant, unserious, and immature.

And how is it that Americans can be all these things?

ABCCBSNBCCNNMSNBCNPRPBSNEWSWEEKTIMENYTWPHOLLYWOODandACADEMIA.

That's how.

"If the Republicans can learn one thing from tonight, and that thing is to have real conservative candidates who don't come off like they're about to burn down an orphanage win the primaries,"

... and Republican who's not a pro-gay-marriage pro-kill-embryos-for-research and pro-give-massages-to-terrorists-in-gitmo will be *treated* by the MSM like an orpanage-burning extremists ...

so what to do?

" we will come roaring back in 2008 as an antidote to the upcoming Democrat mayhem."
---- but will the same MSM that bashed us act as the shield for the liberals. I recall horribly glowing article about that awful regulation-extremist Waxman in ... Scientific American.

CONSREVATIVES - PREPARE TO BE MARGINALIZED BY THE PRESS AND ELITES THAT HATE YOU.

NRO:
"Looking at the numbers, not inconcievable that the Democrats take the Senate. Based on the precints that are left, it is possible that the GOP could go 0 for Virginia, Tennessee, Montana and Missouri.

It is a good, good night for Democrats, a bad bad night for Republicans, and a brutal night for my predictions. It is a tushie-kicking from coast to coast."

I've learned nothing. I still *know* American power is morally superior to international institutions. I *know* free markets create more prosperity than command economies. I *know* the traditional family is better than free love.

We need to regroup and make certain the vision is set right in this country and squabble about details later. This requires articulating our philosophy to the American public and less reliance on wedge issues, which aren't good for nationalized elections.

Comrade Hillary + Dem Senate + Dem House = End of the Republic.

Let that sink in, and you'll know what you have to do.

No, it should read, Republican party flubbs again...the stupid b@st@rds.

"Then how come real conservatives (Hayworth, Graf, Santorum) lost?"

My gosh man.......see above answer. The republican party is incurring the wrath of the voter for there lack of effective leadership.

Like it or not, this is the reality of it.
