It's Karl Rove's genius that got us to the wonderful position we held. The position we held was never "wonderful", because a strong governing coalition (1994) was replaced by office seekers who would say anything to gain, and do nothing to endanger, their wonderful jobs.
Tonight is the apotheosis of Rove-ism.
