BOYCOTT CNN NOW (Apologetic Vanity)
BOYCOTT CNN NOW | 11/6/06 | Presidentfelon

Posted on 11/06/2006 8:21:14 PM PST by PresidentFelon

Dear Sirs,

CNN has chosen to wage war on the Republican Party. Some of us, if eventually not all of us at Free Republic, have decided to wage war on you. You will soon find yourselves on the wrong side of an argument over truth and fairness and we believe your network will be seriously damaged by that argument.

After the election, if our effort is successful, GOP Congressmen, Senators, and other political figures will begin to refuse to come on your network or provide interviews for any purpose. As our momentum grows we hope to get enough right-thinking people on board to make it difficult for CNN to find a token Republican face to put on the air. (You can probably still count on Chuck Hagel.)Our goal is to create a buzz, a cacophany of voices determined to strip from CNN any remaining legitimacy as a serious "news" organiztion.

There will be an organized effort to reveal the totality of the blatantly partisan effort CNN has undertaken to help one political party defeat another. A very public outcry by GOP leaders, conservative politicians, and legions of conservative talk-show host will question your basic fairness and fidelity to the American values of honesty and integrity.

Example after example of your incredible bias will be put forth both in public statements and speeches in House Orders. The boycott will last for months if not years. You will be forced to admit the complete absence of ideological and intellectual diversity in your organization. You will be held up as an example of a liberal totalitarian culture where group-think is not only preferred but is required. When our organization gets done with CNN most of America will see your network for what it is....a poorly disguised propaganda organ for the DNC and extreme left.

CNN is run and staffed by people that think the truth is whatever they want it to be and are perfectly comfortable shaping the news to fit their own agendas. The evidence is abundant and the argument is an easy one. By your own actions you have made yourselves incredibly vulnerable. CNN has absolutely no defense for the truth in this matter and you will lose in the court of public opinion. At least millions of more people will be made aware of your outrageous behavior and hopefully they will do what every decent American I know is doing....turning off CNN and asking their family and friends to do the same.

I wrote the above letter out of frustration but sure wish we could organize ourselves and like-minded politicians to actually pull this off. Republicans will always be at a severe disadvantage in the media wars if we don't figure out how to embarass these people and reveal them for what they are.

Believe me, CNN does not want this fight. If we did exactly what the United Auto Workers do to one of the Big Three automakers every contract period we could make the rest of the media think twice about their programming choices.

The UAW targets one company out of the three and forces them to comply to their demands. The other two Automakers fall in line and give the UAW what it wants for fear of being targeted themselves. This is the blueprint that should be followed to compel the rest of the traditional broadcast and print media to abandon their partisanship and treat both parties with fairness and integrity. This is absolutely the only way that things will ever change....if we make them change.Pick one or two media entities and really go after them.

I apologize for the vanity but I'm at my wit's end about the lack of basic fairness in our media. Can somebody steer me where I can find others to help me contact GOP politicos and see if we can't get something started? I will spend every bit of spare time working on this if I can get in a few doors.

Freegards,

PresidentFelon

A month ago, I had to watch CNN for two weeks. I couldn't give up the news, and it was CNN or nothing.

Well CNN has always been biased, but I still couldn't believe how bad it has gotten. Even people presented as reasonable such as Wolf Blitzer and Lou Dobbs, were horrible, horrible. How I thought they ever had integrity is beyond me. I was in disbelief at how bad CNN has become.

That is a good idea...Republicans should just refuse to go on CNN...God knows, there are better ways to get their message out. I think after tomorrow, this should be high on our activism list.

....but I'm at my wit's end about the lack of basic fairness in our media.
------
If EVERYONE who is not a lib-news-sucking leftist parasite, completely boycotted every liberal newrag and phoned all their advertisers noting they will not buy from ANYONE advertising in the leftist-biased rags....things would change real quick.

I have not bought a liberal rag in over ten years. If everyone did that, things would change. Just shut them down do to lack of advertising funds...end of issue.

I only watch CNN when channel surfing between Comedy Central and Fox news.

For about a second, it is on.

Click, click, click.

We've never had cable, and do not watch television in general. I don't read the newspaper, yet I know more of what's going on than nearly all of the people I know (put together!) You could give up the news and not miss it one little bit.

CNN makes it available for free, perhaps pays them.

I don't know that I would use FreeRepublid's name without Jim's permission. What I normally so is call the ones that advertise with them to voice my displeasure.

Maybe getting a petition up the target the sponsors. I would be more than happy to sign one. My writing skills are lacking or I would offer to compose a letter that could be copied and emailed.

I've been advocating for some time now that people simply refuse to allow CNN, MSNBC, and the rest of the television MSM into their homes. Do NOT tune into their programs. When we want to know what they have been reporting, there are plenty of other ways to find out that information without tuning into their programs. The same goes for the anti-American, traitorous newsrags, such as the New York Times, etc. Do NOT subscribe to these papers, and encourage every other person you know to refuse, and/or cancel their subscriptions as well.

I feel your frustration, PresidentFelon, and share it with you. I'm furious at what they get away with. I'm also furious at the imbeciles that are too ignorant to even know they're being duped.
