There seems to be an inordinate amount of genuine animosity toward her right here in FR... If our partisanship is questionable to any degree at all, why not across the country?

I agree. There's only one GOP Senate seat that I fear is in serious trouble. Santorum is a great man, a great conservative leader who unfortunately is in a deep blue state. He always seems to close well so I'm definitely praying for him.
I think momentum is clearly on the side of the GOP. Kerry's meltdown and the unemployment numbers were great news this week. I heard Senator Allen talk up the marriage amendment in Virginia this week. That should help him win. Talents GOTV effort in Missouri I believe is stronger than ever. Same for Dewine in Ohio. Burns, Chaffee, Steele are either leading or in dead heats. So I fired up for tuesday.

Too bad nobody in the Florida Republican Party gave enough of a sh*t about winning a senate seat to present "another candidate" viable enough to beat KH in a primary. What kind of party is that anyway? In the business of conceding winnable senate seats just to sabotage an impertinent member? Sounds as stupid as the Ohio GOP, frankly.
Now that bitch Pelosi is out of her cave again, calling the administration a "freak show", maybe she can take over where Kerry left off in firing up the Republican base. SHE, more than any individual candidate, needs to be the FACE (shudder) voters have in mind when they go to the polls.

FWIW if I didn't have to take a friend to the county seat of a neighboring county I wouldn't have seen 1 Sherwood sign in this district. Within about 10 miles of where I live (western Wayne county) there aren't any R signs but crap loads of Casey, Carney, and Rendell.
The long and short of it is that I said a year ago that the GOP would hold both houses, I said 6 months ago that they would, and I say today that they will. The polling that has been done all this time has been an exercise in grab-assing that is utterly meaningless, and should be shunned among thinking people. It is like reading tea-leaves.
GOOD CALL! And on Wednesday, look for the wailing and gnashing of teeth! I can't wait!
I imagine zogby and rasmussen will make their final appearances on Hannity tomorrow. let's see what they have to say.
John Zogby was just on WABC radio in NY predicting at LEAST a 25-30 dim pickup in the house quite possibly 38-40.
I would love to prove him wrong, make sure everyone you know votes.

So Sherwood, Weldon, say 2/6 of the CT/IN seats, Graf, O'Donnell, maybe Gerlach? That's 7. There are 5 Dem seats genuinely in play, perhaps we'll get 3-4.
For what it's worth, NRO took Zogby apart today: he had earlier pulled a poll in NY because it "oversampled" Republicans, then he re-did it for the Dems. Then he re-sampled many of the people he polled the first time around!
He USED to be considered the most accurate pollster.
He then politicized himself and seems to be more of a cheerleader/propagandinst that a legitimate pollster anymore, if he's way off again in this election he should be discredited and sent off to the ash heep.
