Democrats Trying to Prevent Soldiers From Casting Ballots
TexasRainmaker.com ^ | November 2nd, 2006 8:13 pm | Texas Rainmaker

Maybe this is just another “botched joke”…

A New Jersey congressman raised questions Thursday about a new military voting program that lets service members request and submit their ballots by fax or e-mail.

The congressman in question is… wait, here comes the punchline… a DEMOCRAT! Dun dun dun…

Despite the fact that the Defense Department has said it has taken every precaution to protect the identities of the soldiers voting (and warned them of any potential risks so they could opt to use another method of casting a ballot), Democratic Rep. Rush Holt has raised an 11th hour challenge to try and prevent military members from using the new system to cast ballots.

Of course, to Democrats, challenging the military vote comes as routine as disparaging the military itself. The reason is obvious.

But they’re not interested in disenfranchising everyone…

…They encourage illegal aliens to vote…

…They consistently work with liberal organizations to encourage Democrats to vote multiple times…

…and they regularly challenge legislation that would help prevent voter fraud…

Seems they want everyone on the planet (and some buried deep within the planet) to vote…

…just not the very men and women who valiantly volunteer their lives to protect us.

This is every election. They despise the military so openly and virulently that they know allowing soldiers a fair vote is a vote for their opponent. I think there should be special legislation enacted for these scum that try to suppress active duty military votes.

I thank you for posting this story gridlock.

In spite of the fact that it has provoked a torrent of profanity issuing forth from my mouth.

...they know allowing soldiers a fair vote is a vote for their opponent.

...but they tell me that the troops are opposed to the war and the lies of the Bush Administration that got them "stuck" in Iraq...

I'm so confused...

I think we need to get a Senator or congresscritter to propose Robert Heinlein's common sense commitment to citizenship...

If you haven't served in the military, or otherwise done at least two years of other public (low-paid) service, you don't get to vote. Period.

Of course, there are minimum qualifications for both.

Put that in your pipes... Demontards!

Some a$$hat from the northeast is spouting the same thing. Look out troop it's BOHICA time.

As God is my witness, if they get away with this crap this time I'm going to beat the living hell out of one of these bastards. Hell, I take the jail time, that's the least I can do to protect the freedoms of our brave troops. After all, they are putting their lives on the line for me.

IMHO these cruddy RATS are scared to death of our brave troops for another reason. We'll win this war and these brave men and women are going to home PISSED at the RAT politicians and they will run for office as republicans and they will take their seats. I'd be PROUD to be represented by these heroes instead of the cowardly filth that IS the RAT party.

I can't wait for the first of those debates.

Hero candidate to incumbent cheese bag: "Excuse me Congressman, aren't you one of the legislators that took away my right to vote while I was defending my country"?

Yep, amazing how the Democrats seem so concerned that everyone have a chance to vote - except of course for those who deserve it, arguably, the most.

Reprehensible.

Democratic Rep. Rush Holt

Anyone know this guy. He must have a very secure seat for his name to be tied to this. I would flood his district with this from now until the election.

I don't see where he's trying to "prevent" voting... 'discourage' is more like it.
