Hey Dave, I bet we met that day! My husband and I were standing back of the stage with B.G. Burkett most of the day. I cried when I spoke to John, I just couldn't help it, I was so proud of what he was doing...(Silly woman's tears)

I had met up with a FReeper/lucianne member and we hung out all day too.

John is such a soft spoken, completely unassuming, quiet man. He was awed and I'm sure humbled by the attention he was getting. That morning at breakfast at the Holiday Inn, he was mobbed when he arrived. Freepers were finishing and watching C-span on the restaurant TV. They were replaying a tape of John speaking at a location in San Francisco when he walked in. Folks, including myself, approached him to sign his book. He penned a personal note when I told him I had been stationed at Division 13. (He was down at Divison 11, Unlike Kerry I spent 2 weeks shy of a year in country and lived on the same patrol boat for the entire time.)
