Not a big john mccain fan, but a great slapdown. Just hope the MSM gives this the traction it deserves. Will serve to remind voters why Dems are not to be trusted with our security

The whole Republican House and Senate need to call a press conference immediately and denounce Kerry's remarks!

Posted the following on another thread. Statement from the Kerry camp on the on-going flap:

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE October 31, 2006

Statement of John Kerry Responding to Republican Distortions, Pathetic Tony Snow Diversions and Distractions

Washington – Senator John Kerry issued the following statement in response to White House Press Secretary Tony Snow, assorted right wing nut-jobs, and right wing talk show hosts desperately distorting Kerry’s comments about President Bush to divert attention from their disastrous record:

“If anyone thinks a veteran would criticize the more than 140,000 heroes serving in Iraq and not the president who got us stuck there, they're crazy. This is the classic G.O.P. playbook. I’m sick and tired of these despicable Republican attacks that always seem to come from those who never can be found to serve in war, but love to attack those who did.

I’m not going to be lectured by a stuffed suit White House mouthpiece standing behind a podium, or doughy Rush Limbaugh, who no doubt today will take a break from belittling Michael J. Fox’s Parkinson’s disease to start lying about me just as they have lied about Iraq. It disgusts me that these Republican hacks, who have never worn the uniform of our country lie and distort so blatantly and carelessly about those who have.

The people who owe our troops an apology are George W. Bush and Dick Cheney who misled America into war and have given us a Katrina foreign policy that has betrayed our ideals, killed and maimed our soldiers, and widened the terrorist threat instead of defeating it. These Republicans are afraid to debate veterans who live and breathe the concerns of our troops, not the empty slogans of an Administration that sent our brave troops to war without body armor.

Bottom line, these Republicans want to debate straw men because they’re afraid to debate real men. And this time it won’t work because we’re going to stay in their face with the truth and deny them even a sliver of light for their distortions. No Democrat will be bullied by an administration that has a cut and run policy in Afghanistan and a stand still and lose strategy in Iraq.”

When you never work a day in your life because your wife supports you and your idea of fighting a war is parade around in a uniform and get a phoney purple heart for a hangnail, you're too superficial a person to know what's going on in the world.

For those who missed Tony Snow this morning at the press gaggle......one reporter said skerry's people tried to say skerry was referring to Bush's poor academic performance and that was how we landed in Iraq.

Listen for yourselves.

-so this is what skerry thinks of the Vietnam vets he left behind in Vietnam? ......and the rest of our military?

In the 1960's Lyndon Johnson had a program, part of The Great Society, that recruited men with low mental skills into the military to try to effect a poor man's upward mobility. Most of these troops did fine. Later, it seems, a lot of them got drafted anyway when the U.S. casualty count went up. Richard Nixon was elected in 1968 and he instituted the draft lottery, which took a lot of the uncertainty and anxiety out of the draft. Then he started the all-volunteer army which remains to this day.

What did Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi and Howard Dean know about this Kerry speech and when did they know it?

They must all resign. In fact all Democrats must resign immediately over this disgrace by their recent Presidential nominee.

John F'n Kerry is dumb as a post. Please, Dhimmicrats, nominate him in '08, won't you?

"Without them, we wouldn't live in a country where people securely possess all their God-given rights, including the right to express insensitive, ill-considered and uninformed remarks."

I'm not a fan of McCain, but in this case he's spot on with that.

Well said by one is more qualified than most of us. Thank you, Senator McCain

I don't necessarily agree with the Senator on most things but he's dead on in this one.
