Probably because the media in this country won't give it one tenth the exposure it would have, had Webb been a Republican.

Webb is a creep. People in Virginia aren't going to vote for that.

The Dems will come up with a note Allen passed to a girl in 10th grade and the MSM will cover that not this.

The books have been out for quite a while. Allen's campaign site isn't mentioning this, either, in the press release section.
If spun correctly, it could possibly be an issue, but it's not groundbreaking since it's been "out there" for so long, it my end up looking like a hail mary play to bury Webb once and for all, even though it's not really needed judging by the polls. Hopefully it won't backfire.

Ummm, not that I support him, but they're NOVELS.

Jim Miklaszewski said on Imus this morning that the books won't make a difference in the election.Begala was on earlier and spinning this as just novel writing. Notwithstanding the "let's just blow this off" reaction of the "elites", the things Webb wrote have a huge ewwwww factor that will bother the voters. They certainly bother me.

The morning show on the Richmond talk powerhouse WRVA dismissed it today as an Allen "diatribe" and didn't mention the underage/incest/gay angle.

I guess Jim hasn't read the excerpt. When I read it, I was sickened. I hope everyone with moral decency in Virginia knows what he wrote because it is plain SICK!!!
In fact, I think Webb should drop out of the race.

Jim Miklaszewski said on Imus this morning that the books won't make a difference in the election. If I lived in Virginia this would absolutely motivate me to get out and vote AGAINST Webb. I think Miklaszewski has misread this one.

THe exerpts are disturbing, to say the least. Definitely not my taste in fiction.
However, I'm really hoping that the Allen camp isn't behind the release of this, as is being stated. If it was actually released as a statement from the campaign, it makes them look incredibly desperate.

Imus also asked Chris Dodd if this was a "legitimate concern". Dodd said "no".

This should be nearly as big as the Foley incident. If I were Allen I would be running ads. This will destroy Webb and if the conservative "blogsphere" let's it die then they are fools. This is a gift to the Allen campaign.

MSNBC is covering it now. Dem says this is no way to honor our troops. Claims it's GOP desperation and question the timing.

Sounds like wishful thinking by Miklaszewski. Anybody that reads that junk and decides it doesn't matter has no business voting. Of course, character flaws are a bonus for liberals so it may help him with the kooky left.

I am DEFINATELY not a Webb supporter, but they were fictional books, for Gods sake. There are enough legitimate issues to hammer him on, let's not lose credibility on some specious issue that will have little traction with the average citizen.
