Conservative radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh today attacked actor Michael J. Fox for inserting his halting voice into the U.S. Senate campaign in Missouri, suggesting Fox was "acting" in a commercial where he's shown shaking while endorsing the importance of stem cell research.
"He is exaggerating the effects of the disease," Limbaugh told listeners today, encouraging them to go online to watch Fox's commercial, which first aired Oct. 21 in St. Louis during a World Series game. "He's moving all around and shaking and it's purely an act."
In the commercial, Fox throws his support behind Democratic Missouri Senate candidate Claire McCaskill, who supports stem cell research, against Republican James M. Talent. Fox also taped similar ads for other Democratic candidates, including Benjamin L. Cardin in his Senate race against Republican Michael S. Steele in Maryland and Wisconsin Gov. Jim Doyle (D), who is seeking reelection.

"What you do in Missouri matters to millions of Americans, Americans like me," Fox said in the television spot, which will continue airing throughout Missouri this week.
"This is the only time I've ever seen Michael J. Fox portray any of the symptoms of the disease he has," Limbaugh said. "He can barely control himself."
Limbaugh said Fox could "control himself enough to stay in the frame of the picture" and to keep "his eyes right on the . . . teleprompter. But his head and shoulders are moving all over the place."
"He is acting like his disease is deteriorating because Jim Talent opposes research that would help him get cured," Limbaugh said, adding that Talent only opposes "fetal stem cell research, but not adult."
"This is really shameless of Michael J. Fox," Limbaugh said. "Either he didn't take his medication or he's acting."

There are several real issues. Fox is just wrong medically, and using his disease to get democrats elected. There is no evidence embryonic stem cells will cure Parkinsons or anything else. There IS stem cell reearch, even funded by the federal government. Pretending that republicans are blocking disease cures is a bunch of nonsense. M J Fox is just a liberal and wants to help dems get elected.
That struck me too when I saw the ad last night. It reminded me of when I used to do polling and had to learn the local pronunciations.
The Stone Age Press is running to his rescue. This is going to be a battle between them and the New Media. America will see right through this terrible act. Fox just flushed his career.

For my own part, I don't think Fox was probably manipulated by his handlers. I doubt he knew beans about the fine print of Amendment 2. Embryonic Stem Cell research has become another quasi-religion just like Global Warming.
I still recall an article by someone who had observed the way Christopher Reid's handlers/minders/nurses physically kept at bay anyone who wanted to straighten him out on the ESCR issue whenever he made public appearances.

Michael J Fox had a short part on Boston Legal last season and this. He must have been taking his meds, he did fine.
There's that 'Doctrine of Infallability' that Ann Coulter talks about.
Check with your area Clerk's office. It's different in most states and even in some area's of the state.
All I did was go to the Clerk's office and fill out an Early Voter's request and I went right in and voted. I didn't want to stand in a long line on Election Day. Our Early Voting started on Monday.
I think Absentee ballets are different if I remember correctly.

My father died 18 months ago from the effects of Parkinsons, it is a cruel disease. I would say from watching the video that MJF has not taken his medication, but he does not appear to me to be in the adavanced stages of the disease.
Toward the end, patients have to take so much l-dopa and agents that facilitate the effects of l-dopa that virtually all patients I have ever seen have moderate to severe dyskinesia and I do not see any dyskinesia symptoms in the video.
That said, MJF will most certainly die from direct or indirect effects of PD, so I can forgive, sympathize and empathize with his plight.
I think that's what happened to Christopher Reeve...I think he had embryonic stem cell "therapy" that gave him cancer.
