CAMARILLO, Calif. (AP) -- U.S. retail gas prices were down again in the last two weeks, shedding almost 8 cents a gallon, according to a survey released Sunday. The national average for self-serve regular was about $2.20 on Oct. 20, compared to $2.28 from two weeks earlier, according to the Lundberg Survey of 7,000 gas stations across the country.

Mid-grade prices averaged around $2.31, while premium stood at nearly $2.42.

Gas prices have dropped more than 82 cents since Aug. 11.

The lowest average cost for a gallon of self-serve regular, $1.98, was in Tulsa, Okla., while Honolulu recorded the highest price, $2.84.

Evil Rove's arm has grown long indeed.

This was an honest mistake, Karl accidently bumped the gas price potentiometer on his desk. He was distracted by the howl from the left when the Dow went over 12,000.

I was listening to Larry Kudlow today and it was unreal the amount of freggin` idiots that call this guy up insisting Bush is dropping the gas prices because of the upcoming election...This reminded me, wasn`t there a liberal politician a few weeks ago said the same thing? These people are completely, utterly insane...If it isn`t Bush controlling the weather slamming hurricanes into New Orleans, he`s now able to control gas prices.. "Raise the price I say so I may reduce it later for votes! I am the almighty all seeing powerful George Bush!! Do not anger me or I shall unleash a sonic fart beam and destroy the entire solar system! Mwa ha ha ha!"

"Bush's fault"

Exactly, and I'll reward him soon by voting straight republican in the upcoming election.. Thanks President Bush. By the way, I paid $2.12 a gallon for 93 octane in Hazelhurst Georgia last weekend. That was the cheapest I saw on a little trip. We are paying about $2.39 for 93 octane where I live in Florida.

Oh yes, I heard the same exact reasoning while I vacationed with family last month. You'd actually think the fools would be grateful for cheaper gas, but oh, no--there's a Bush catch attached to it of course.

...Naturally they'll all be carping if the prices go back up through the roof...there's just no pleasing these knuckleheads, is it?

while Honolulu recorded the highest price, $2.84.

Not even close to highest. They should price fuel in rural Alaska.

$4.75 Aniak
$4.25 Nome
$3.04 Kodiak
$2.99 Valdez
$2.79 Seward

The only thing that will please them is a liberal President, even at the cost of millions of lives, and that is no joke. Look at Vietnam and the result of their protests and media barrage back then... 2 million Cambodians slaughtered by Pol Pot, yet they`ll always put Nixon and Vietnam in the same sentence, never Johnson or themselves.
