The sad fact is that the winner of the debate is in the eye of the beholder. John Edwards looked like a kid from a junior high debate club against Cheney. Cheney had the facts, the delivery, and the best lines. The only memorable moment for Edwards was when he tried to out Cheney's daughter. Yet all the polls showed the debate even.

Morris hates her and wishes her ill, but wishful thinking won't do the job.

He predicted she would lose the first time and you saw how that worked out.

I hear you.....to compare edwards to a junior high debater is not fair to junior high schoolers....

PS - you are dating yourself, they are now called middle schoolers. ;^)

But Morris has never had his foot in his mouth, too many other people's toes in there.

Spencer won the Debate, by any standard.

She thinks she has nothing to lose, and all she has to do ius show up, stand there, and not make any mistakes. Wrong!
She has to show that she can think on her feet, and not get trapped.

In this media age, it is all about sound bites. Unfortunately for her, she gave up too many last night.

He said Lincoln was the commander in chief and she wasn't. Brilliant off-the-cuff remark. He could not have planned for that one.

I didn't know about the second one. Thanks for the update. I heard that potential viewership was rather miniscule and it was set up that way by the RAT camp.

IMHO Hillary appears bored and boring with no charisma, more like someone running for the PTA than a national office.

Spencer must read FR. I'm surprised there wasn't a lot of laughter at that line.

Yes. When it comes to predictions, Morris is 100%....he is ALWAYS wrong.

Spencer claims not to have rehearsed for the debate much at all:

Plane-guy Spencer is stuck in the rear

ROCHESTER - There's no glamour in being John Spencer. He flew JetBlue to Rochester with his wife, Kathy, on a morning flight he shared with three of Sen. Hillary Clinton's aides. Spencer sat on the aisle in Row 25 toward the rear of the plane, next to the bathroom and in the same row as this reporter.

He said he'd worked on opening and closing statements, but hadn't conducted any mock debates. "I don't do rehearsals," he said. Spencer spent the rest of the flight reading The New York Times. He was, he said, "checking in on the enemy." When he got off the plane, there was none of the sign-waving crowd that campaigns usually gather to greet the visiting candidate, just a handful of his own staffers.

Nice results, but the socialists in NY City will elect here again anyway. Even though she and Shoemer both are communists and hate America. Even if neither does a damned thing to protect the city. Her fine husband's actions led to the city being attacked, but they are too busy getting their handouts and free stuff to worry about getting attacked. They are alive. They were not killed. Thus, old news, vote Hillary, and move on.org.

Hillary is the biggest loser in the Senate, and wouldn't be anywhere near the Senate if it wasn't for her husband. What do the people of New York use for brains? Are they so flattered that Hillary would deign to run in their State, that they consider it a big plus to have her in the Senate? What a bunch of maroons.

"But beyond the words, there were the appearances. Hillary Clinton was a Richard Nixon look-alike tonight, wearing pancake makeup, featuring hooded eyes that never met the camera, and looking like she felt -- angry at having to waste time justifying her Senate tenure in something as trivial as an election."

Not good. Is it too late for a face lift?

Interesting -- did anyone here watch it, so we don't have to depend on Morris' word??

Slightly over 3 MILLION of us DIDN'T vote for Hillary! in 2000. That's more people than live in 20 U.S. states - and probably more registered voters than in many other states. We're not all morons.

My overall impression: Spencer is smarter and a more down-to-earth, likable person. He's "quick on his feet" while she plods along with clearly well-rehearsed paragraphs. Hillary just has all the advantages: celebrity status, the platform and prestige of the Senate.

Summation: She really hasn't done much, except try (AND FAIL) to get risk-based funding on terrorism in order to help New York. The way Spencer kept calling her on blaming other people was excellent. He's a true conservative, in his heart, and it shows. He won, but celebrity worship and Dem "inn of commitment" may win the actual election.

This is true. I for one haven't and never will vote for Hillary. Why other New Yorkers do is beyond me but that's their right. I don't like fakes and liars. I don't support them either.
