I'm still trying to understand the root of that donation.

I thought I heard Savage say that he went to a dinner fundraiser to hear the speakers who would be there. That "donation" was the cost of attending the dinner. At least, I think that was his explanation.

So, if his explanation is plausible, how much is reasonable to spend on surveillance of the other side (if that's what it was)? How much is reasonable for a person who talks politics on the radio each day to actually attend a function (fundraiser notwithstanding) to get more material for the show? Also consider that Savage lives in California and this is a pretty important race in California.

Now, I'm not sure if Savage actually came out and endorsed Brown. Did he?

The article I read was clear. Savage said Brown had done a great job in Oakland (he hasn't) and he (Savage) didn't know anything about the GOP candidate... now, for someone who's living is based on knowing who is who this was an uterly stupid statement because Poochigian is not a Johnny come lately candidate.
