<Which do you think would more likely take down a building and kill more people: 1) a U-Haul truck, big one, filled past gross weight with barrels of gasoline and driven into the lobby of that building. or 2) a four seat airplane, filled past gross weight with every ounce it can hoist off the ground with gasoline flown into the side of the building?

I can't answer that question since I'm not a terrorist but I do know if my assumption is wrong the worst case scenario is nothing happens. If your assumption is wrong the worst case scenario is such a terrorist event could happen. In fact this very scenario was being discussed today on Fox News by a security expert and a former FAA official.

Oh, and how many potential terrorists are trained to drive airplanes vs. know how to drive a truck? How easy is it to get a U-Haul vs. get an airplane?

The terrorists who flew the commercial jetliners on 9/11/01 had far more training than would be required to fly the aircraft involve in today's crash. Approximately 2-3 years ago a kid flew a small aircraft into a building in Florida to commit suicide. A terrorist could certainly do the same.

And that's coming from someone who can't decide whether one could do more damage driving a 20 ton truck filled with barrels of fuel into the lobby of a building vs. a 0.6 ton Cirrus airplane flown half way up the side of it.

Any terrorist event could happen, at any time. Restricting the rights of Americans for very low grade threats merely because people are ignorant on the capabilities of small aircraft would be stupid.

Come on, think. A four seat airplane about the weight of a Volkswagen isn't a 400 thousand lb 767 just because both of them have wings.
