She was outed by her husband.
She was covert - she was outed by Aldrich Ames! .. the spy! He had her name on a list he gave to the Russians. She was brought back to the USA at that time.
The problem: Although she was reasigned to another position within the CIA at Langley, her STATUS on her record at the CIA was never changed. Because of that .. her husband tried to say she was covert .. but she had not been in a covert status for over 5 years - and according to the law - SHE WAS NO LONGER COVERT.
put down the drugs and move away from the crack pipe...
