NEWSWEEK ^ | 9-6-06 | Isikoff

Oct. 4, 2006 - House Intelligence Committee chairman Rep. Peter Hoekstra is still pressing U.S. intelligence agencies to look for possible weapons of mass destruction in Iraq—even though intelligence officials say further work is unlikely to reveal anything new about Saddam's WMD programs.

You mean Newsweak's condescension continues. Surely, we need to know the whole story, not just the accepted template the Left has convinced so many Americans of. The Left is always cynical of America's motives, especially Republicans, but credulous and complacent about our enemies.

Actually I find it interesting that among the lying Demo ads I have seen, none have mentioned WMD. They all trash Bush and try to drag down America's war effort but none really use the tired out "Bush lied" nonsense. Maybe their focus groups and expensive research showed they wouldnt get much traction with that.

just utter arrogance on their part that they know more than those who saw the satellite photos of wmd being moved, or the humanint that saw it, or the techint

that story has at least 3 major factual errors in it as well.

typical tripe

Noooooooo, has nothing to do with the election. No way. nu-uh. Couldn't possibly be. A distinguished, centrist, unbiased and unabashed news organization doesn't do that. They just report what's making news today-this week. The news week. It'd be foolish to think that they'd try to influence an election based on false, weak, or agenda driven reports (see also Koran burning, missing RDX in Iraq, and ROVE ROVE ROVE).

Ended my subscription long ago.

I get The Weekly Standard now.

If I want to read Newsweek, I'll wait until their apology books come out (like the new one apologizing for making stuff up about Rove).

Since Isikoff just published a book arguing there were no WMDs, he has a vested interest in cutting off the hunt, which probably influences his language.
