I've known 25 Marines personally that died in helicopter crashes so don't you dare try to lecture me on accident statistics

Type of aircraft # of Class-A mishaps during first five years

CH-46E 44

from your source 44 CH-46s lost in the first five years of operation, one would think that you would rather your child didn't fly on such a tired old bird as the CH-46 instead of the MV-22

we're on the same page brother. I'm not lecturing you about anything.

If you look at the dates and way the CH-46E crashed you'll see that the V-22 couldn't have survived combat /search and rescue for downed aviators because it hasn't been tested at those parameters successfully. The last attempt was the "software" malfunction" and that was the April 2000 crash in Arizona that took a couple of friends....not Marines I knew personally, but friends.

I guess the MH 60Sierra sucks compared to the Osprey but then again, the subcontractors to build it aren't in 48 different congressional districts.

I'm nobody, I have no ability to change the procurement of the Marine Corp. I just want somebody besides VP Cheney to want to kill this program or justify it's cost in lives and dollars without looking at the fact that several billion dollars has gone down this rat hole.
