Good news... Bad news... [Blog Active admits tipping off DCCC about Foley]

Well the good news is that the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee is finally getting it. I called their Director of Communications, Bill Burton, to let him know that the Foley thing (and another case) were coming down the pike. While Burton promised to have someone email or return my call and didn't, I am glad he followed up on my call and was ready on Friday to come out of the gate running.

The bad new is they are still not paying enough attention... There are others within reach... If the Democrats would only fight half as hard as the Republicans.

I posted comments at the DCCC website on the Foley entry. Not only do their promises of returned calls and emails never come to fruition, but now they are deleting my comments from their blog, The Stakeholder.

Luckily the comments were cached before they axed them.

Here's the one I put up at 9:55pm:

Very exciting.

I am glad my work on this is finally coming to fruition. I spoke with Bill Burton at the DCCC about this and I'm so glad you guys were able to jump in on the heels of my work.

Obviously we didn't have a chance at winning this seat, so this is great.

Good Job!

Well, at least they are paying attention.

Things that make you go hmmmm....

Blogactive is a radical gay site that takes great pleasure in outing supposedly gay men, especially Republicans. The blog promised an expose on Mark Foley back in March 2005. The entry then said in part:

MARK FOLEY IS GAY MARK FOLEY WILL BE EXPOSED FOR THE HYPOCRITE HE IS THROUGH A MAIL AND INTERNET CAMPAIGN THAT WILL REACH INTO EVERY HOME IN HIS DISTRICT.

As best I can tell, they never ACTUALLY followed through with their expose then. I wonder why.... And now, he says he had contact with the DCCC.

Hmmmm.....

This behavior by the radical left is disgusting. I hope that Repubs are not going to fall for this.

I think we have had a good few days of showing sufficent rage over Foley. That rage can continue but its time to start getting facts down now and stop becoming unwitting helpers to blogactive agenda and others agenda of "outing" in the public sphere every suspected bi or homosexual high ranking Republican.

Here's one they didn't scrub (yet):

Comments I have left a number of messages with the DCCC with the hopes of finding a good elections attorney as I am sitting on information regarding voter registration fraud by a sitting GOP congressman. Additionally, why isn't the stakeholder covering the unbelievable story of Mark Foley and his emails with underage pages? If the DCCC wants to win two seats which are not on anyone's radar, please write to mrogers@blogactive.com Posted by: Mike Rogers | September 29, 2006 12:24 PM

DCCC The Stakeholder

Another blogger who admits he had the emails for two months:

AmericanBlog

a while back. I received copies of these emails several months ago, but couldn't confirm their veracity so I did not report on them. Well, they're out there now, and they've been confirmed.

Did the DCCC break the law by withholding this information from law enforcement?

Upon further review,iIt's somewhat difficult to tell whether Mike Rogers actually spoke with the DCCC. He says that he called their director of communications but despite promises, no one returned his calls. On the other hand, he did boast that he "spoke with" the DCCC's communications director in his boasts on the DCCC's website.

What did the DCCC know and when did they know it?

They knew about the emails for months, but did not turn them in to the authorities...

doesn't that make them complicit in any crimes which may have been committed by Foley?

And, were these same bloggers maybe corresponding with Foley to get the goods on him? Were they posing as young boys? How else did they get the scoop on him?

Also, not one republican believes this is a coincidence that this has broken so close to the elections! How stupid do they think we are????

The behavior of Foley is what is truly disgusting.....have you read the transcripts of his messenger account? Revolting to the point of gagging would be more accurate.

That this man was hiding behind the hypocrisy of child protection legislation just tops it.....

Once you read the scripts you won't care how outed him or why......this "guy' needs to be in prison.....

Am I the only one that's noticed the teaser?

But, it sounds like they knew this a long time & they held the info to use for political gain, not for the reasons we believe he should be outed & punished!

Well, I did, and I have no argument there.

The Democrats are (as always) too cute by half. If they persist in asking what did the House Republican leadership know and when did they know it, why isn't it equally relevant what the DCCC knew and when they knew it? This gay rights activist, who claims to have had some goods on Foley back in 2005 but never really released it, admits to having had some type of contact with the DCCC.

What's good for the goose is good for the gander.

It would I bet.
But see this is the rub I bet. The Blogactive crew know exactly what is against the law. I am sure Foley knew too. Since it appears you can sleep with a 17 year old pretty much all over the country even if your 108 then I am having doubt that iming a 17 year old is a crime.

The email as to the 16 Louisiana boy had nothing criminal in it. That is important only because it shows some weird conduct and shows discomfort on the kids part. Again nothing criminal.

This is appearing more and more to me not to be an issue of criminal conduct but abuse of power and position. In this instance a ethical an moral violation. These Dem groups know that also I am seeing.

I think they are in the clear on the stuff they have.

The only other out I see is that no one can be prosecuted for the failure to report a crime one is not a part of.

Nope. And that's why I thought twice about posting this and giving this guy any additional attention. From Jane Austen's good work, it appears to be some sort of alleged voter registration fraud scandal. Dry and boring.

It is also important to prosecute those who knew about his proclivities towards young boys and yet covered it up. Those who found the messages pertaining to child abuse and did not take them to the authorities are also guilty of a crime...

regardless of their party affiliation, those who knew about Foley's messages to minors - and did nothing about them for OVER A YEAR - are to be condemned as well.

I think its time we find some facts out. There is no need to talk about Foley needing to be in prison if he didnt do anything illegal.
According to the law I can go outside my home and engage in sex with any 17 or 18 year old I find. Is that moral? Of course not. But this not following up Dem dirty tricks because we all feel we have to feel outrage. It was a huge abuse of power and position and trust regardless if it was illegal or not. That alone deserves his resigination. Since that has occured I am pretty satisified. If he committed a Feseral crime let hiom be prosecuted. But I have yet to see a statue yet

The key now is to figure out if our Republican leadership is being set up for scandal and to defamation regarding charges they are innocent of

I guess my question here is "is there a crime sending sexually suggestive IM's to 17 year old males"? I

f not I think we need to quit calling this a crime. I don't know the answer to that but since no news show has even produced a statute or referenced a Criminal Codal article I am having big doubts

The Difference Between The Republicans & The Democrats:

Republicans get rid of their suspected predators.

Democrats worship theirs.
