If anyone would kindly point out any leader of a Muslim nation who has done something similar for Christians (or Buddhists or Jews or any faith other than Islam) I would be very interested in hearing about it.

An employee asked for somewhere where they could pray quietly in their lunch hour, a spare office was suggested. Not sure how that constitutes it being 'converted into a mosque'!

Does it stink like a real Mosque?
On my first visit to the Blue Mosque in Istanbul (Sultan Ahmed Mosque), I was struck by the very strong smell of stinky feet. The whole place just reeked. All of these sweaty people - 7000 at a time, take their shoes off and walk across the huge rug 5 times per day. The whole place reeks like old mens' stinky socks.
I couldn't get out of there fast enough. The smell is ground right into the rug.
