Subject: FYI- MANUSCRIPT ABOUT NEW YORK AND LONG ISLAND RAILROAD COMMUTERS
To: Rep. Carolyn McCarthy
June 7, 2005
Hello... My name is Janna Herbison, and I am a wife and mother from Tennessee, who is also a former television news reporter and former Democratic Press Secretary for the TN Legislature. I have recently written a book entitled "Southern in the City" - a manuscript about my experiences in Manhattan/New York over 20 years as a Southerner.
One of my chapters is entitled "To Long Island and Back." It is a chapter about my travels to and from the city in 2000-2001 from Islip, NY on the Long Island RR Commuter train to Penn Station/Manhattan when I almost moved to the City and was interviewing for jobs. The main focus of the chapter is how amazing and helpful the people on the train were to me during my trips. The commuters went out of their way to assist me in so many ways and it wasn't until I saw a movie about the 1993 shootings that I realized why. I have dedicated a part of this book to what happened and to my respect for the Long Island commuters and what they went through. I, of course, am in the process of publishing, but thought Rep. McCarthy would possibly be interested in this book. It basically states that Southern stereotypes about "New Yorkers" are usually not true, and that I had a most enlightening experience getting to interact with these wonderful people.
Thank you very much for reviewing this, and and if Rep. McCarthy is interested in the book, please let me know and I will be more than happy to send her a copy. I would very much appreciate her input and guidance for this project, which I believe will be very worthwhile for both New Yorkers and Southerners in the near future.
Thank you very much, JH
Memphis , TN

And as for Robin Rasmussen, she's listed in the Board of Directors for the "Memphis Regional Planned Parenthood":

MRPP welcomes Casey Thompson, Ella Horton, Nicole Walthour, Nora Boone, and Robin Rasmussen to it's FY2007 board
Whoops! September! Mods, could you fix that?
Yeah, looks like they hand picked their Southern Women to interview. There have always been some Southern women who voted Democrat, and there always will be, but if they're not Democrat already, it's highly unlikely they'll be leaving the Repubs. to join up.
Great catch!
LOL, I wonder how long it took ABC to find these three idiots. I love how the Clown Car Media will settle on a story line, Republicans who don't like Bush, Republicans who don't like Iraq, soldiers who think Iraq is a mistake, etc. etc. then set out to find the few people who fit that pre-fabricated storyline they developed.
Somehow I doubt ABC news reporters were just walking along one day down South and saw Republican women wearing t-shirts that said "I'm Republican and voting Democrat in the fall!" No, ABC set out to issue yet another bag of vomit story about the dire straights the GOP is in this fall, settled on this story line to prove it and then went to work, probably for weeks, looking for the women who fit their template. Spare me. These idiots in the Clown Car Media really think we're a bunch of brain-dead dupes. Unfortunately for most of America they're right.
Bet these Southern Bells get a scolding from their Husbands for that.
Liberal Psy Ops and Black Propoganda exposed!
What a laugh!
This is excellent work. Have you e-mailed ABC about this? and the Newsbusters.org blogger? If not, you should.
I knew it! They were plants. Just from the excerpted comments, I just didn't picture them as Republicans or at least conservatives.
At best, they might be John McCain Turncoat Republicans (tm).
Excellent work. Talk about manufacturing a "news" story.
It's hilarious how the Communists in the DemocRATic Party are so ashamed of being scumbag DemocRATs that they always try to pass themselves off as "republicans." The dorks at GMA should be ashamed of themselves for not doing 5 minutes worth of research.
GREAT DIG AND ANOTHER EXAMPLE OF BLATANT FRAUD FROM GMA!!!
CONGRATS!
Good job. Reminds me of the serial callers to C-SPAN who were once Republicans and now just can't take it anymore and are going to switch parties.
Actually, this type of party switching would probably come from the left to the Republican party.
Nice try ABC. Sheez, you people are disgusting.
Excellent research!
Send it to Hannity.
Typical, this is just like that story about a reporter that couldn't imagine Nixon could win because she never met anyone that said they would vote for him.
They live in their bubble and they will never try to talk to any real people, they just call up the nearest liberal orginization to give them names of people to interview.
Another "Fake but Accurate" story from the press.
But as your post shows, they lied about leaving the stupid farm. They were already home.
