I've heard of that before. My father got pulled over once for not signalling a right turn out of a parking lot and caught a ton of crap because some idiot cop saw a single .22 round in the bed of his pickup truck. He had no guns in the vehicle, no other ammo, no criminal record, hadn't had a ticket in literally 15 years, and the cop was treating him like Al Capone.

Officer jackass was debating with another cop that had pulled up what weapons charges he was going to press when the seargent pulled up in his car. After about 30 seconds, he said, "This is crap. Give him his license back. Sir, you're free to go. This traffic stop is over." Praise the lord the cop supervisor had some common sense that day.
