This is why I love Free Republic - thank you for posting the article. I've just tossed out the bag of fresh spinach sitting in my fridge here in CT, one of the affected states. I never would have seen this in the MSM.

Note to file:

1.Continue refusing to eat spinach, raw, boiled, steamed, broiled, fricaseed, stewed, in a casserole, chilled, or as a garnish.

2.Continue enjoying a juicy ribeye, minus spinach on the plate.

3.Match wine with beef, refuse any wine that a sommelier would recommend for spinach.

Saw that a little too late. I'm sure in this case, the double post won't hurt.

"Would it kiil the E.coli if the spinach were washed in a water-bleach solution?"

Probably because bleach kills most bacteria, but I think I'll just pass on the fresh spinach for a while...

"What brand?"

They don't know...they are advising consumers not to eat any fresh bagged spinach. Earlier, I had heard on the radio about spinach from Selinas, CA, but I'm certain they don't know anything for sure...

That's an interesting question. These are "pre-washed" products. The contamination is wide. What could they have in common? My guess they were washed at the same place and the water got contaminated in the tub or whatever the ag industry calls the washing places.

it shouldnt matter that something this important is posted more than once. maybe some people wouldnt have seen the other thread. sometimes you double-post cops are too much.

Oh yes, little to add, lack of inspiration or the vocabulary needed, all reasons for the double-post cops to erupt, much like the Taliban exoriating the unbeliever.

Thank goodness, FR does not strive to achieve such sanctimonious pureness.

I not being a cop... I was only letting the poster know that it was already posted on FR. I was not mean to them or acting like a cop.
